There's another movie tht came out recenty, I can't quite rember the name, but it had something to do with a dophin named Winter who lost her tail and a litte boy helped figure out a way to make a plastic tail fit comfortably for the dolphin. I think it's called Dolphin Tail.

Greetings from Mexico...A little info: Free Willy was shoted in Mexico (on a theme park called REINO AVENTURA)... and the orca that played willy was an attraction named KEIKO. This movie is one of the rarelly Mexico-USA co-productions, and had a big punch here in Mexico. Because of the purchasing from Six flags of REINO AVENTURA theme park and sanitary issues regarding KEIKO and his tank, it was set free in the ocean...unfortunately, he died in the end of the 90's.

@Leatherbubba lol on a serious note, whales dont like a LOT of things, an Orca is an active pack hunter, so it shouldnt be surprising if they hate captivity and sometmes snap and kill a few people. kind of like how people are "shocked" when tortured circus elephants go nuts and start stampeding around the place.

yes its a cheesy flick but its funny how the nostalgia critic says the Willy "has everything he needs" and therefore has no reason to be a sympathetic character, not quite how it works

I expect the part where the Critic talks about the kids tapping on the glass spooking Willy to make it on his next Nostalgia Critic Fuck-Ups for two reasons. One, I've seen the movie, and that wasn't no tapping, that was freaking bitch-slapping. Two, in an aquarium, any noise made by contact with the glass is amplified by the water. So to Willy, those glass smacks coulda been sonic booms. I'd get spooked/pissed off too if people kept sonic booming me (insert Guile joke here).

In response to the Critic's criticism of the whale bing disturbed by the tapping on the glass, here are some facts:

1. Sound travels faster in water than in air, and is thus presumably more powerful.

2. Dolphins (the orca being the largest species) use echolocation, so the vibrations in the water can presumably cause the whale great discomfort.

3. They were not so much "tapping" as hitting.
