Being familiar with Maya, Photoshop, Nuke and Mudbox, I swear Mari is an EASY pick up. You'll feel right at home- as if you've been using it for years. The masking system is incredibly powerful (especially edge, ambient occlusion, and value), the scalability is off the charts and the shader system helps you accurately visualize what a render would look like!

2 months ago I was really annoyed with Adobe Photoshop and I jokingly said to one of my friends; "Imagine if The Foundry made a texturing program like Photoshop? It would rival Photoshop like Nuke rivals After Effects."
And suddenly... *POOF* here comes the most powerful 3D texture software ever. A dream comes true. :P
I will definitely get this program in the future! I think what makes it all very attractive in the end is that the suggested price is very nice. Good deal!
Hello dili25. This demo was running on a Dell laptop with a 3800M Quadro (1Gb GPU) and 8Gb of Ram. We're working hard on the windows build and hope to have it available well before the end of the year.
Great software . well , i know from this demo that You guys are running Mari on Linux ( little kde logo ), and I have 2 questions :
what are the Pc specs running this mari demo ( 2k+ texture data , i believe , demands lots of Ram memory and a great GPU ) and when a windows version will be out ?

2. Will Mari run on older cards like Quadro FX 1700?
