  • To bad they didn't have a father like Joe Jackson. He would've kicked somebody's a** if they tried to come between his kids.Jermaine's wedding band saved Hazel & Berry. :)

  • really listen to the the lyrics, this song is so under rated, listen to the message about the tricks that were going on back then and that still exit today, regardless of my view, great song !!!

  • Don Cornelius: Why???????

  • @82winsbeyond Amazom.com has all of those songs.

  • olympia was getting it

  • Man! I wonder who could we contact to get the record companies to release these great songs for download. I mean Boogie Fever and Hotline are great but those are the only songs you can download. I want Forever Yours, Fools Paradise, I wish that i could Talk to you, and High School Dance for download.

  • I like the way Ricky dances on this one, and Wish That I Could Talk to You...

  • Great group mega talented if not for a few bad breaks they would have rivaled the J5

  • Leon Sylvers is a great writer.

  • DUDE! They are getting it!! This is a prime example of why I love 70s music. Plus, I was born in '75! :)

  • @melliemel32 '79 here. I barely made it :)

  • "living your life in a fool's paradise" sing it charmaine!!!!

  • Lip syncing at its best

  • @jessesan2003 I know they should have let them sing over the track. They sound exactly like the record live!!!

  • THE SYLVER'S MUSIC WAS PROFOUND, IM GLAD THEIR MATERIAL IS BEING REVISITED. THEY HAVE VERY CONSCIENCE LYRICS IN ALLOT OF THEIR WRITING.

  • I saw them live in Chicago back in the 70's. They played instruments for part of the show while singing. Thsy sang and danced with a backup band for the rest of the show. They were very good.

  • @bassistdc Ok where and when did they perform in Chicago because I completely missed that show and regret it to this day!!!

  • @Nanadsyl Sorry I don't remember the date or venue. I Remember it being a smaller, intimate venue. I was near the front. It was a long time ago.

  • @bassistdc Wow wish I was there all those years ago.

  • wow! super tight choreography

definitely underrated and overlooked in their day

  • wow these cats were super hot if things did not get railroaded

they would have rivaled the j5 no question

how come i cant find these songs on itunes

  • @psilent007

The reason that they didn't go further was that Leon Sylvers III (producer) was voted out of the group. After he left he went on to produce

    1. 6 Shalamar Albums which gave us the "Second Time around" "Some Where There's a love" "Make That Move" "This Is For The Lover In You"

2.Lake Side (ALBUM) "It's all the way live"

3.Whispers "Keep On Loving Me" These are great, great songs! That could have been the Sylvers. But Management wanted to go in a different direction.

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Their bad business deals was a problem from jump...I think thats #1! Having Leon was a plus though but he would've still worked with them had they been allowed to work, also the others could write songs as well!

  • @psilent007

Oh! Leon Sylvers III also produced Glady's Knight "Save The Over Time"

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING That man has written/produced so many songs!

  • @RememberTheTime09

Yes! Between his memorable work with the Sylvers,Shalamar alone he contributed works that will always be remembered.

  • @RememberTheTime09

Ok! I am listening to "I'll never be ashamed" right now! Thanks for pointing this song out to me! They are getting it lol The back ground singing is so slick! The way that they harmonizing is too close to perfect. It sounds like many coming across as one voice.

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING No prob unfortunately the quality of sound on records(which their music is stuck on sadly) over time isn't the best, you can tell by most of the stuff uploaded it but their harmony pretty much finds its way through. Anyhow the breakdown at the end of "I'll Never Be Ashamed" is just shattering!

  • @RememberTheTime09

And "Forever Yours" is my favorite song from the family next to "Misdemeanor". "Forever Yours "is a very beautiful situation.

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Yeah very nice song Edmund(who co-wrote it) did a wonderful job vocally on it. Both are great songs...they are two of many. They got a song for darn near every occasion or mood haha.

  • @RememberTheTime09

Ok! Ok! The brothers must have met the love's of their life's around that time or something lol Because that is a beautiful heart felt cut! Someone was the object and prime motivation for such a cut!

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Haha, its possible. Can you imagine?! *Faints*! That song probably caused some kinda feelings in live shows.

  • @RememberTheTime09

Well..I would have fainted over Olympia! I would have been looking at her with stars in my eyes as the song was being sung.I'm not sure if a man faint had ever been witnessed. But it would have went down lol

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Haha! Gorgeous lady, beautiful family.

  • @RememberTheTime09

"I'll never be ashamed" 30 some odd yrs after the recording I'll tell you what a good idea would have been.Listen! This is another Sylvers cut that put groups under pressure. @ 2:41 I would have added some Roller Tons. I would have given somebody some sticks,a cup of coffee! & said listen! These sticks are your baton. Now I want you to turn this corner like your running the last leg of a race! This is a wonderful song!

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Watch the 'Unsung' episode of the Sylvers. They said that this song was written because of a militant teacher that the oldest brother had for history class. That Unsung was a good episode on them.

  • had to have been the coolest afros in the buisness

  • Charmaine would have caught the biz!

  • @SirBandgeek

OLYMPIA WAS THE ONE FOR ME : )

  • classic

  • The choreography is tight!!!

  • The interesting thing is because they let the industry divide them, they ended up becoming labled as bubble pop or soul. If they had stuck with Leon the manager probably would have dropped them. And they would have been on SOLAR with Leon.

  • @ccth22 I dont think that evil devil would leave. The Sylvers were his meal ticket. Like Leon said if he didnt leave there would have been some violence. I wish the outcome would have been as you stated but that manager was ruthless and was bent on getting Leon out.

  • The sisters were sooo Fine!

  • @TheOneUncleBone

    yes, especially Olympia and Pat

  • You guys are right. Although I had a crush on Olympia. Charmaine was fine!

  • @ccth22 I'm sorry but which is which? Is Charmaine the one who sings or is that Olympia? I'm 26 and just found out about this group when I saw them on unsung.

  • @justincredible214 Yes Charmaine is apart of the trio of lead vocalist on this song.

  • @justincredible214 Charmaine is the one singing on the far right. Olympia is next to Leon.

  • Charmaine is so beautiful. Just cant take my eyes off of her. If was around back then I would try to marry her. Women back then were on another level

  • @2441883 Yes, I had a smart-alecky response; but on the real, I dont like being smart-alecky. What good is it, to be smart-alecky? I don't like bickering and squabbling and the back-and-forth. I read what you said. I don't particularly think it is a nice comment. Thumbs down. I will leave it at that.

  • Lawd Charmaine at the right end was some kinda fine!!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT THEM ON TV ONE!!!

  • 9 YEARS BEFORE MY BIRTH
