It's about her trying to fight off all those around her, who think they know what's best for her. And cos of that she ends up fighting her own doubts which are consequently brought on by others. When she returns to him at the end and presses the doorbell and the crowd are sucked into the sky it's her overpowered them all. Then the noise of the mob once she's inside are just like her doubting thoughts. Once she hugs him and the vaporise to running off, it shows they both had the same problem.

Wow! This short was very well done conceptually in using other "actual" people to represent her own internal doubts regarding her new relationship with him.
Kind of simplistic in my opinion. I understand that shorts don't usually have the time to develop their characters but this is too basic. Pretty girl, ex ran away with best friend, now scared, faces fears for this new awesome, sensible and charming boy friend. It had that: you can find better line that was touching but besides that i guess it falls short.

Yes, those people outside are her doubts and anxiety. They (herself actually) try to drive her away from that guy. She pulls through and goes to him again. The ending is for the audience to make. Someone rings the guys door (another girl maybe?) and you can hear the people outside again (her anxiety is rising up again). Or maybe it's just some delivery?

So, it makes sense for conclusion that they both hear the same sounds, both are running away together. What I don't understand is why he wrote another note to put into the box while the girl went out to get breakfast.. was his mind telling him that it probably was just a one night stand?
@JAN2O1O The box is where he puts notes of "good experiences." When he has a bad experience he reads the good ones to cheer him up. So he wrote a note when the girl went to breakfast cause his "date" with her was a good experience.
Her doubts came back, until they embraced, then all her doubts disappeared (as they both did), reappearing on a road, signifying the start of their journey through life together.
@11Firat58 my take on the last door bell ring would be "his" anxiety decides to visit. He's worried too if she doesn't feels the same way in return. As the voice grew louder, their anxiety grew collectively together, worried where would this all go. But in the end they gave it a try, disappear away from the drowning voices and running away together; to deal with their anxieties together.

Kind of simplistic in my opinion. I understand that shorts don't usually have the time to develop their characters but this is too basic. Pretty girl, ex ran away with best friend, now scared, faces fears for this new awesome, sensible and charming boy friend. It had that: you can find better line that was touching but besides that i guess it falls short.

Yes, those people outside are her doubts and anxiety. They (herself actually) try to drive her away from that guy. She pulls through and goes to him again. The ending is for the audience to make. Someone rings the guys door (another girl maybe?) and you can hear the people outside again (her anxiety is rising up again). Or maybe it's just some delivery?

@11Firat58 I think perhaps, the male character as well has the same anxieties as her, he has a box where he keeps slips of his past bad experiences, maybe bad experiences of ex-girlfriends. So, it makes sense for conclusion that they both hear the same sounds, both are running away together. What I don't understand is why he wrote another note to put into the box while the girl went out to get breakfast.. was his mind telling him that it probably was just a one night stand?

@JAN2O1O The box is where he puts notes of "good experiences." When he has a bad experience he reads the good ones to cheer him up. So he wrote a note when the girl went to breakfast cause his "date" with her was a good experience.

@11Firat58 my take on the last door bell ring would be "his" anxiety decides to visit. He's worried too if she doesn't feels the same way in return. As the voice grew louder, their anxiety grew collectively together, worried where would this all go. But in the end they gave it a try, disappear away from the drowning voices and running away together; to deal with their anxieties together.
