Mike Price is lead tpt. Looks like Bruce Paulson on lead bone. Altos are Quinn Davis on lead and Richie Cole is 2nd. Don Englert is tenor 2 and Joseph Calo baritone.
It's so great to see all these videos of the master at work, making it look so effortless! I saw Buddy only few times in person in the early 70's.I actually played opposite him, I'm embarrassed to say, during a gig at Bachelor's 3 in Ft. Lauderdale! It seems like it was a dream. Anyway, keep those videos coming...they are awesome!!
it's sad, today the "naked bros. band are more popular than these guys, and their job requires 1/1000000000 of the talent that it takes to be able to play like this. I wud know i play trumpet, and the notes that these guys reach are truly the "talk of the town"
Playing the drum part for this song would be hard as hell.

Chick Webb drove his band as hard if not stronger than Buddy.
Do your homework.

why is this song called mexicali nose?

@oliverbasslol164
I have never heard anything about the origin of the title but would assume that it is a play on the title "Mexicali Rose".

I always felt this song would be a great TV show opener.
I can hear it used for something like an "Hawaii 5-0", "Streets of San Francisco", etc.
