I'm interested in this study and its results. I tried the website, but it's not in English. Could you share any article/paper about this mapping study?
The info we get after mapping is how the hydrological system flows under ground. if it's multipel systems or if they are conected (and how). THe underground river effect all life above ground...
OMg what is the point. I Do not get this, why would you risk your life to dive in a tight boring tunnel that could turn in to zero visibility. At least if you are going to risk it all it should be pretty to look at. And those tight gaps you squeeze though. What if something happens to your buddy or you, you just can't get out quickly at all.. Makes me anxious just watching this.
well.... What can I say, we explore this cave system to map it. We want to know how the hydrological system effecting its surronding, wildlife etc.
Sure It's is a risk, but as you can se in the video, we have places back up tanks along the line and we dive most of the time with 3 separate system on us. Yes, sometimes we need to squeeze though, but we only do that if it looks wide on the other side. SAFETY is everything!
@NordProduktion Im fascinated by this but it really makes me anxious, I find myself holding my breath when you go though those tight sections. Can I ask do you ever find yourself in a tight spot and think....crap I want to get out of this cave now and if so do you just go with your gut and turn the dive or do you make your self stay?
For me, I always dive with my gut... If I don't feel ok, I turn back, if you don't you may end up in the cave forever. I like to get home to my family...
amazing video.. amazing job.. As i can see you are using the apeks tec 3 regulator and you put upside down.. can you please tell me how do you route the long hose and from wich side.. I have the same exactly configuration with the nomad and the tec 3 and your hose routing is really interesting.. thanks.. george
Sorry, it's not a Tec 3 and not a Nomad... it's a DS4 with TXT50 and Armadillo harness. This diver do not use longhose. most of the time I think that longhose is only used by SM divers if they are diving in mixed teams (SM+BM in same dive team). If I'm useing a longhose I route it from the 1st stage down along the tank and then up to 1st stage again, cross my chest and around the neck. I put my longhose on right side SM tank.
The helmet is and old Icehockey helmet from the 70's... ugly but dose the job.
some of us use skate helmets. Kids helmet workes grate, pull out the foam from a xs/s size and it should fit. You can glue some neoprene on the inside for a better fit.

So what kind of information do you then get by mapping it? I'm no diver or anything but this video is amazing.

Brilliant !
Must have been so hard to make.
Maybe could have done with some underwater bubble sound effects to add to the atmosphere.
