This is a very interesting insight on how they created one of the most recognizable voices in cinematic history. I would be willing to bet you could ask anybody to name the most evil voice ever heard and they would say Darth Vader. A lot of actors who do Vader for the games and fan films miss the point a lot of the time, because they try too hard. Vader's voice is not human, and shouldn't have too much inflection or tonal variation.

He was mute for 8 year's straight from his stuttering (he still does but not as bad) and his teacher found out he secretly wrote poetry. so he asked James to go up in front of the class to read it from heart. so he said one line from the poem and BAM that broke the spell and he's had the AWESOME voice since <3 we never knew what it sounded like BEFORE that cuz he never talked during those b4 year's.

Actually, i'm inclined to disagree. While it would be interesting to see what a psychological Vader could have been, the way they handled it for the original trilogy worked very well. The narrow band of inflection gave Vader an intimidating, powerful, and almost invincible air to him. It really set him head and shoulders above everyone else.
