@StopSignRobot Continual Variable Transmission. normally helps in fuel economy as CVT goes from 0 to top speed in 1 gear, so there arent any lag on acceleration cause the gearbox wont have to disengage the engine and upshift/downshift.

i got lancer with CVT cuz of the traffic in my country.. if it werent for that, id get stick... its a great ride :P everyone wants to ride on my car xD... had no problems with it since i bought it on march 2010... ill mod it for a little bit better performance later on.. for now its bone stock

@Iplaythrdrumsgood. I Have both a 2010 Lancer and a 2006 Acura(Honda) and I love both cars. Both very reliable. Obviously, my evo gsr is my favorite, but you can't put an evo and an Acura csx in the same class. You cant go wrong with either, both are good cars. Going n/a, I would go with the Honda and sink some $ in aftermarket accessories. Honda engines probably have stronger internals if you wanna mod. It can take alot of xtra hp if you do it right.

only ralliart and evo come with awd. @Iplaythedrumsgood, Choosing between the Lancer gts and the civic is a tough choice. The civic is a 1.8 liter and the Lancer gts is a 2.4 liter. The lancer gts is the obvious choice if bragging rights from stoplight to stoplight is your thing! However, the aftermarket can fix the little less hp of the Honda to equal the gts in terms of acceleration. I love both cars and I would have to say, take an extended test drive in both(take it home for 24 hours).

@TheTopGun920 Thanks! I also looked into it a bit more, and the Ford Fusion is a much better pick in terms of both fuel efficiency and performance. Also, the Nissan Altima is a good choice as well. Also, Ford invented the automobile, so you know. . .

i have an 09 lancer gts. love the car. has good acceleration and excellent steering for a fwd car. only complaint i have with the lancers is the paint. right by the rear tires there is hundreds of chips because it flairs out to much and the paint is low quality. rocks and salt coming off front tires does this. must get mud flaps to stop this. i recommened getting the ralliart (turbo, awd, recaro seats available)

@lancerboy17 We have many 09-10 lancers on our business fleet, I completely agree with you about the paint. We use an automated wash with those cleaning belts (not brushless). And after about 3-4 months all of the lancers look like they are about 20-30 years old, faded, scratched, chipped and terrible.

They are great value for money.i spoke to one of the mitsubishi reps here in australia about this, and the same process and paint is used on the outlanders, and we have no problems with them.

i think it's just demand; for me, mitsubishis' interior has always been the low point. I think they have good looking exterior design, good performance, and good reliability but the interior is crude and very unlike its sporty Japanese competitors, notably Mazda and Nissan. The interior of the new eclipses for example remind you of something from a 90s ford escort; i wish they would just copy Honda's design like the american automakers.
