You're so right!!! Racism sucks!!! People are stupid! I've watched Daniel Stringer vide "I Have a Dream Project" I thought it was very inspiring. How can other people be so critic and be so racist! He's trying to creat a better world! Leaving you some inspiring thoughts, personal thoughts! I don't understand how can people be so selfish!
As you said, we are all interconnected, and in the end, we all face the same fate and end up in the same cemetary. Skin color doesn't matter in death, and so it shouldn't matter in life, but not everyone see's things the way we do :(
Racism here on Youtube is staggering to find and in many videos. It's rediculous! I myself am colorblind when it comes to loving other people, but the few of us black people who show up here on Youtube with videos get cut up by the racist biggots here, even and especially when we do good things and talk about the good for humanity.
The last few lines were very thought provoking. Thanks for having the courage to stand up to people who spew their anger at others. May God bless you.
very well put. It seems like everyone I know is careless about what they say and do to other people. Either people make a negative impact or they are too lazy to try to make a positive impact on the world. I think meowman9 is right, too--it is easier to act stupid, so more people do. Your video is a good reminder to think before you act.
What a beautiful soul you are! Quite honestly, I've not even noticed all the bad comments you mention in your video. I am so much into LOA (Law of Attraction)right now that I could only notice like-minded people like you and Daniel Stringer. If only those negative people could look back and see where they have emanated from before arriving on this planet-earth, they will sit up. The least we can do is to recognise that we all are bubbles from the same cosmic soup. Bless you!!!
there is something that we all should understand about the human being, it is a human being ... a lover, a dreamer, ... a racist, killer, an asshole .... and unfortunately that applies to all of us, it only depends when!! We all are racists! it doesn't depend who we are, it depends when and where!! take a moment and think about it ...
You have an understanding of what is important. That is the easy part, but a crucial step to allow or continue the practice of that insight. I find myself feeling despondent somewhere between the talk and the walk. But that is my record. But glad to be here.
Most people are good and considerate, but they are too lazy to post their intelligent comments. Immature idiots, on the other hand, make post after post without an end in sight. That's what make them happy...after all, they're idiots. Don't take their comments seriously.
I was really taken aback by all the racist hate-speech in in the comments to Daniel as well. So thank you for this post, and keep posting. It was very encouraging to come across a response that so acutely phrased both the problem and the solution.
hey this video didn't get any ugly comment!is that a first?!:D...u r a charmer joyleafdancer!good video,coz it proves ur point!though i think bunchofgeek wudn't agree with me 8-|
wow, thank you, After reading some of the comments on the daniel's video i honestly have to say it was depressing. It is so nice to know that there are other people out there that respect others and care about the world around them. So many people are so blinded they cant see past themselves. I think they miss out on the whole purpose of life and the many opportunities it provides for happiness for us. God bless you and thanks for the comment.
Very nice message Ms. Dancer. There is an advantage to the situation being this way, you know. When there are people who are racist or sexist, but too cowardly to demonstrate this publicly in their daily lives, it is probably good to have a way to measure their numbers. Albeit a rough measure, think of how relieving it will be the day that 'invisible' people aren't hateful. ;-)
Thanx for that Joy it's people like you and Daniel that make me proud to be a part of this world and this generation (or at least less ashamed :) What you say makes so much sence I just wish more people could see it - wake up and start thinking people. There's so much we could do better if we just stopped being jurks for no reason. I totally agree it starts with small, everyday things and translates in big stuff like war. Anyway thanks again and keep it up you do a lovely job.
I'm the perfect example of how these things are learned because my first bf was black, and when I told my brother's grandma that I was going to marry him one day, she freaked out and told me he was black. I asked her if he fell in something and needed to get clean because I didn't realize she meant he had dark skin because it wasn't something I was taught to notice. Because I was raised to be 'color blind' I still don't see any difference when it comes to race; it's all how your raised.
The sad thing is that all this hatred and stupidity is learned, and what scares me is that if one stupid person has five kids, there's five more stupid people (not always, but most commonly), and their's nothing we can really do about it.
Someone's background can give them a starting point from which they begin to evaluate the world around them, but change can and does happen within people with exposure to new ideas. We have to be careful about judgments; thinking someone is stupid is the first step of stereotyping. That injustice perpetuates the entire cycle.
Part 1 : You miss the point : we need semantics : "you are invisible if and only if you can not be judge". You are surprised but I am not because I see people with out there "mask". I grew up in the worst area of Paris but went to the best institutes (2 master) and I am doing my PHD in the best univerrsity in the world but every where people retain :"he is good (and sexy :) ) but he is half form North Africa and South Italia"
I really like your response Joy. I watched Daniels and decided to look at the other responses. We share the same views and I really cherish the way you were able to "say!!" what you feel. It's so hard to express a feeling words, but it came out really well. I am also hoping that Youtube will be a little thread to connect people more. When will people start understanding that we are one world?
I love you. This is great, and I feel the same way all the time on the internet. It's like the Ring of Gyges in Plato's Republic, which is one of my favorite themes (I teach philosophy). Folks are basically decent, conventional wisdom would say, but we read the excepts on youtube everyday. M.
Nice Response. I also agree with the assholes that still look at trivial things such as race, religion, etc and make prejudice judgments about it., Especially on the internet...where no one knows who is saying it. I bet those idiots with the racist comments would not dare say that to someones face. They use the internet to shield themselves, but they are really revealing the depth of their ignorance.
Joy, you're absolutely right about how it seems that good intentions (like Daniel Stringer's "I Have a Dream" video) seem to draw asshats out of the internet woodwork like food crumbs on the floor attracts roaches and rats. I hope, too, that someday we humans can get beyond petty little differences that divide us such as race, ethnicity, gender, yadda yadda yadda. Peace--D.R.
