I bought Pinnacle Video Capture for Mac. It didn't work on any of my 3 Macs and It took 6 months of emailing their customer services (without success). I repeatedly asked for my money back and they completely ignored my request. Needless to say, I won't be buying or recommending Pinnacle products in the future. The most satisfaction I got was putting a lump hammer through it!

I've used Pinnacle software plenty, and I have to say that I would NEVER recommend Pinnacle, ever. The hardware works pretty well and it gets the job done, but the software is very poorly designed. Using Pinnacle Studio alone uses up more system resources than running Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop all at once. TVCenterPro stops working with no warning constantly. Unfortunately, you HAVE to use Pinnacle software to use most of their hardware.

i purchased a dazzle dvc100 rev. 1.1 and i have windows xp home edition sp3 AND THE VIDEO I RECORD IS WAY OFF FROM THE AUDIO, it's like it starts recording the audio later and the audio gets even more off track. i was screen recording my ps3

Stephen Spielberg did home movies when he was a kid, too.

I did about 7 of them myself, back in the 5th grade or so, watched them so many times they're unwatchable now because the Video is crackly the whole way through all of them.

Pinnacle is consumer, Vegas is prosumer, Premiere and Final cut are Professional and Avid is high end Professional.

I love vegas too. It's easy to use. you don't need a high end computer to use it and it has loads of available plugins. However the fact remains that all Big (not indie) studios use Avid. But...most ppl here are not looking to make a feature length film...just maybe post some cool videos to youtube and for that..yes vegas is great...infact some small news stations and videographers also use vegas.

FCP is slowly replacing AVID. FCP has 50% market share. So big hollywood movies are cut on FCP. Like Cold Mountain And alien vs predator 1 and 2. So to say avid is high end and FCP is not is completely WRONG. FCP is used in hollywood more and more so paying big money for AVID is being realized to be STUPID.

Avid is overpriced for sure. Although the price has come down recently due to (as u said) Final Cut steadily taking over. This is great.

The thing is... I've been to quite a few studios in the uk and in my country and all the big ones have huge Avid Suites. However Premiere and Final Cut (more so final cut) are starting to appear more and more.

I just feel that someone that really wants to get into editing should learn avid which was once standard....but..it looks like this is changing.
