Whatever the case may be regarding his understanding of engineering or physics, it cannot be disputed that he has given both the automotive and space industries a mighty kick in the ass, simultanously and with charm. And if that gives us clean cars and beyond LEO once and for all, then I salute that most heartily.
Google power meter was invented to regulate the consumption of power potentially provided to the public for sale by Google Energy, LLC using 111 year old Tesla technology. This venture between Elon Musk and Google was commemorated by the Triforce Easter egg symbols in 2009. Many of these triangle symbols were incorporated into the Google Doodles that lead up to the 09/09/09 9:09:09 Google Doodle and were subsequently removed from record in The Great Google Doodle.
@wheelinthesky300 Musk, in fact has two Bachelor's degrees; one in Physics and one in Economics. Due to the fact that he couldn't find a chief designer he was happy with, he DID become the chief designer of the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9.
All that stuff about Tesla may or may not be true, I don't really pay attention to that part of his work. I'm more of a space junkie.
@wheelinthesky300 Lets try this one more time... Musk DOES have a degree in physics. Maybe you're thinking of the fact that he dropped out of his graduate program at Stanford, but he did get his bachelor's in physics.
I can't really say for sure his level of involvement with designing the rockets, but I get the impression its fairly deep. SpaceX is the company he's most interested in, and the only one he initially intended to run, and he will be working almost exclusively on SpaceX eventually
@TheWimbleton According to Martin Eberhard, FOUNDER and CHIEF DESIGNER of Tesla, Musk does not have any degree in Physics, either on the Bachelor's or Graduate level. Eberhard also has stated Musk never attended Stanford, not even for a day. I assume Musk reviews rocket designs at SpaceX, but I doubt he does the designs or knows how to. To design rockets -an extremely complicated business -guess what? You'd need experience designing rockets, which Musk ain't got.
@wheelinthesky300 Every source I've ever read or heard that mentions Musk and his college education says he has two degrees, one in physics. I'll assume that's true rather than what this one guy says.
@wheelinthesky300 Alright, I guess Musk is just some some greedy asshole that's constructed a huge spiderweb of lies around himself that apparently no one bothered to check out. And he can't be some sort of genius, anyone can make a few hundred million dollars if they get lucky, right? And anything said by Martin Eberhard must be a fact.
Dame that cat is a funny guy a very good actor but a bad host!! At least from this video. He didn't let Elon talk about what was on his mind about he's family or the cars!!
@NeverEnoughTools Something obviously went wrong in September 2009. Did they cause Sumatra? Did Zelda fan Susie Sahim take the fall because George Hwang was instructed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to include the symbolic Triforce symbols? Ask The Three Musketeers of Tesla Motors. Oh wait... they died in Palo Alto and their bodies were burned beyond recognition while the city was in chaos soon after that.

Dude, you get paid to sit around talking to people who actually are living a life. Can I take a class, or get in some kind of training program for that job.... Awesomeman!
the fact that elon musk got very personal at the end of this interview, and especially that he initiated that himself, shows what a safe space kevin pollak creates for his guests through having actual CONVERSATIONS with them instead of eliciting only sound bites.
Great show. Where would i find the entire episode? Thanks.

Musk is a genius.
detriplea 1 year ago
@detriplea Why?
He didn't write any software, didn't build any rockets, and didn't design any cars.
Other people did that, and he insinuates himself as the front man.
I guess there is a genius in thate

I don't like using my keyboard to detract the contribution of great people. I either recognize their genius or shut my comparably incompetent mouth.

@wheelinthesky300 Actually, Mr. Musk has a degree in physics and is the chief designer of all SpaceX rockets.

@TheWimbleton According to Martin Eberhard, the FOUNDER of Telsa,
Elon Musk does NOT have a degree in Physics.
Musk has a Bachelors in Economics
Musk claims to be the "chief designer" of Tesla, but in fact, the designs were done by Martin Eberhard, FOUNDER of Tesla.
Musk came aboard as an investor.
I doubt Musk is doing the designs for Space X, either.
It's unlikely someone who has never designed a rocket ship could suddenly design one.
Eberhard is an engineer with LOTS of experience.

@TheWimbleton Musk does not have a degree in Physics.
He fudged that.
He has named himself "chief designer", so what?
Can it be verified that a guy with no engineering experience or experience designing spaceships suddenly designed one?
Sounds like he has final approval or dissaproval of designs,
not that he conceives of or designs anything.
I doubt he sits there using CAD.
That's very hard to believe, especially considering Musk's similar false claims regarding the Tesla.

@TheWimbleton Every source you heard is quoting Elon Musk himself.
Musk has already been exposed as a liar by Martin Eberhard.
