i agree with simon on this one. elliot is way too good for this song, so it fell really flat. someone not as good as elliot needs to sing this schmaltzy tune. like, say, bryan adams.

This was one of Elliott's best perfomances from Season 5. Hearing David Archuleta's version though, Elliott is clearly in his own league vocally. He just knows how to style a song, without having to worry about nerves. He should've won over stupid Taylor Hicks! It should have been him and Katharine McPhee in the Finale! To add, Chris Richardson would've done great performing this song during Season 6.
I actually really like Elliott and thought he was the best that season. Having said that, I couldn't disagree more with you. I thought David's version was better. I'm not saying David is a better singer and I'm not saying Elliot is better singer. I just think David did a better job on this song. And, I think that's a gross exaggeration to say that Elliott compared to David is in his own league. Why can't they both be great singers together?
