  • This is an entry level detector. Inexpensive so if you don't like metal detecting you are not out much money. But good enough to actually find stuff.

  • Is this good for beginners?

  • I use a knife to probe the ground were i get a hit. Just poke it in the ground and if you fill a hit then dig in that spot. If you are in a rocky area it wont work as well. But it has helped a lot. Got the idea out of metal detecting magazine.

  • so far ive only found 1dime with this ima go to the beach and try it or a old park or go in to the woods to find stuff

  • thanks for the advice on digging up treasures. I keep digging up stuff but can never find it. I'll try the grass clump technique. I have the same metal detector =)

  • Always use a hand trowel in grassy parks or lawns--you can dig a smaller hole to retrieve finds

  • I use BH detector----Pioneer 202 and have 2 coils 8&4 inch--4 inch=good in trashy ground----8" a bit deeper. Here's a battery tip=I am still using a pair of Sunbeam 9V batteries after several hunts of at least 3 hours or so each hunt---can't believe those dollar apiece bats are lasting so well----so folks go to Dollar Tree and buy a couple Sunbeam 9v bats for your BH detector---

  • i use kinda the same detector! it works very well! one thing i dont like tho, the arm rest mount, that screws onto the main BODY of the detector! it breaks very easy! i had to mod mine so the arm rest is seperate of the main chassis!

  • Bronk71: You know I actually live on two patented gold mines?
