  • What a loss for the music world!......much respect for his achievements....may he R.I.P........this is a sweet tribute and the music track is beautiful and touching!!!....great work......anybody know who wrote or played this?......greetz, J.J.

  • @jjoherl Hey J.J., I did the music for this and Jeth Weinrich and I did the slideshow. Greg was one of my biggest mentors but more importantly one the best friends I ever had on this planet. What a loss. Thank you for the kind words on the track. Tomorrow (Sept.29) is the one-year anniversary of his passing. RIP Greg.

  • @nickweston ...Hi CJ.....thanx for replying!.....I feel sorry for your loss...what a cool tribute you did!.....I hope I'm not too curious, but I never heard about you....had you played this awesome guitar solo too?.....just fantastic!....I feel like sharing this with my FB friends, because he should be remembered!....hope it's ok with you?....is there also anywhere more music of your writing to listen to?.......Peace

  • @jjoherl oh please share with the world! Everyone should know about Greg. What a monster genius. Yes I played that guitar solo (it is actually a keyboard). Greg and I made twenty or thirty or forty records together...all the best.

  • I used to call him Chairman of the Board. He said he was the Chairman of the Bored. I looked around Hollywood for his enemies. None around.

  • I was Greg's art & web director over the past 5 or 6 years. We became very close working on the various acts he was representing. He was a great client because he understood the creative process and let me do my thing, knowing he'd get better results. He was a great friend because he always cared and asked about how I was doing personally. I can't even begin to tell you how this video affects me emotionally, but all I can say is we've lost one of the best of the best. Miss ya buddy.

  • Greg was one of the true original cats in this business. One of the best engineers ever, and great hang and a profound character. One of those guys who you think will be here forever. Still can't wrap my head around the act that he is gone. But, he left us all a legacy that will last forever. Loved you dearly and think of you daily. lee sklar

  • Hey CJ

This is so great. I cry every time I watch it. I truly still cannot believe he is not here- at least not in the way he always was. It doesn't seem real.. I miss him. I can still hear his voice. He was a great friend. Can you please get me a bucket for my tears right now? Or as Greg would like- one of his favorite lines from one of my songs was "I have cried enough tears to wash my dishes." Well Greg, now I cry them because I miss you!

  • Hey all-

I get emails telling me you're all appreciating the video tribute. Could you PLEASE post comments and ratings, so more people can find this video? Thanks much.

  • Hey CJ, thanks for posting the Greg slide show. Nice to see some old friends in there as well like Dick Marx, we will all miss "Carl",

    Glenn

  • I miss you Greg. We knew each other for a short time, but we knew each other well.

  • Greg never once let his ego into the music. He was tough and forceful, passionate and tireless, but he was also a teddy bear. Greg had childlike innocence mixed with street smart cleverness and a genius set of ears.

Couldn't ask for a better friend, always willing to listen and constantly asking how things were going.

A mentor and a born leader who gave more than he got most of the time, no one worked harder than him on a project, he set the bar.

    We miss you man

    CJ

  • Still cannot believe that Greg is no longer on this earth with us. I loved his spirit and miss him very much.

  • Greg was one of the anchors of the music industry. When I was a youngster entering the business, he not only supported me by having me work on his projects but also promoted me to other heavyweights in the industry at various events when I ran into him. It was very flattering humbling to have Greg do that. Cj did a great job putting this together.

  • amazing...despite the sadness, it's deeply inspiring

  • Seeing this again STILL nails me. When CJ played this original piece live at Capitol Studios for Greg's tribute, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. The combination of SO many great images, the passion Greg speaks about, and the inspired music drives home the huge loss we've all experienced. Greg was one of a kind. Thanks to all who made this tribute something we can share. He will be truly missed but his spirit lives on.
