  • Nothing is wrong or everything is wrong. I do Girevoy Sport and believe you will not be able to do, with this technique, with a heavy ktb and with a Pro grade Kettlebell during 10 minutes. For me, this is a SWATCH (Squat + Snatch) and i really do not like RKC technique, however i understand that Snatch is correct if you can lift heavier and longer, but if you just want to lift for 1RM or few....it could be good (for you). For me, this is a really bad snatch, really, really bad!

  • He is holding it like a dumbbell. Locking it out would be stopping the bell in a stable overhead position. The kettlebell is heavy enough, just the wrong kind of bell. He needs a competition bell. They are so much better. Your right he is squatting and using his legs, instead of his legs and back together, which would be far more efficient. If he could muster some more reps he would eventually tear his hand. That is what chalk, a proper kettlebell with no paint on the handle is for.

  • believe it or not the elbow is extended fully at the top. RKC method does not require you to medially rotate the hand on the snatch. Breathing is indeed incorrect. No problem with handle position. But your points are valid and just obviously different methods. Thanks for commenting.

  • No chalk, no lockout, wrong hand position, wrong kettlebell, wrong swing, stiff arm, torn hands, wrong technique on drop, wrong technique period.

  • Chalk is a preference and not a requirement. There is a lockout, that is the persons range of motion at the elbow joint. Hand position is ok. The kettlebell is indeed to light. You cannot tell if he has ripped hands ( he has never had a problem with it). He does not pivot at the hips, instead he is almost squating. One of the most important that you have not commented on....

  • His head is always down! Potential release of energy through the cervical spine, big problem. Not only therefore not efficient but also potential injury. Thank you for commenting, its always interesting to learn of different techniques!

  • He needs an American Kettlebell Club coach to teach him correct technique!!

  • What specifically is wrong? There are 4 things wrong, name them.

  • So tell us, OxfordKettlebell, what those 4 things are. I'd like to improve my tehnique and I want to make sure that I'm not doing the same mistakes.
