I actually really liked the ending of yugioh (i prefer the manga though) and i like in the manga the afterwords by Kazuki Takahashi, i was sad to see the series end too because YuGiOh was such a huge part of my childhood and with out it I never would have gotten into anime and manga looking back now i can easily see how the mere existence of yugioh affected the course of my entire life(weird eh?) but I'm very grateful to Kazuki Takahashi, TV-Tokyo, and Konami (but not 4Kids) for doing there best

Yeah....Atem imprisoned his own spirit when he locked away the evil long ago and put his soul inside the Millenium Puzzle and wiped his memory to keep the password he used to seal away the darkness safe. He was trapped on earth for 5000+ years till Yugi solved the puzzle and helped him save the world again, setting his spirit free. When this was done, Atem was able to move on into the afterlife where he belonged.(i just ruined the plot of season 5! :D) so, yeah have fun with THAT!

You are right and wrong. The Yami we see in the 1st episode of GX is Yugi, just older. The one in the final episode of GX is Yami, because he had been sent back in time to the events before the final episode. I heard somewhere he was taken back to the Battle City tournament, I don't know though.
