Although this man describes what his Desktop looks like he made no attempt to explain how he got it to look like that.

I do not understand how to put important folders on my Desktop - why not explain how to do this?

Also how do I get Shortcuts or Icons onto my Desktop so that I don't have to keep searching around all over the computer for important pieces of work or important applications?

This kind of information would be more helpful, please.

if you go in the menu bar, there will be a something called GO choose where you wanna go and you're home free. now as for shortcuts and so forth mac users do not use their desktop for this use. if you want to though, just drag and drop whatever you want on your desktop. also if you would like to create new folders either right click (must be enabled) or go to file_new folder

how did you change the color of your HD icon?

Cut and paste an icon into the top left space in the info box. Get the icons from the net via google.
