  • motherfucking awesome

  • What kind of phone do you have?

  • @rlseii Samsung Galaxy Captivate

  • Cool!

  • Great concept, but maybe the sybthesia screen should be bigger or zoomed in only to the notes that are played. And it would be nice if you could somehow upload the midi files :)

  • I think this process is good. Maybe it's a bit difficult to see which notes you are playing on the tutorial but well, it's better than nothing ;)

However, do you take the time to learn the video I request you ? The Freaking Hard Video you know ?

  • this is some of the finest piano video quality i have seen on youtube, synthesia seems to be very popular and it's a great idea to combine both into one screen. and yes, i miss your hair too :)

  • What kind of phone do you have?

  • that´s a lot of effort to go through. especially with the addition of synthesia.

but i record my videos the same way. HD video with my phone and audio seperately. but i don´t use midi, i don´t have a virtual sound library =/

and yes it helps a lot if you have a marked spot where you place your phone to record. (i even build a special tripod for my phone xD)

but why cant you preview the shot before recording?

  • Thank you!

It would be great if you made a few more Ninja Gaiden 3 covers.

  • Like you said, the auto-focus is a bit of an issue, but other than that it looks great. It seems like sensory overload with the Sythesia displayed in the corner. I personally liked the other way where it was zoomed out a bit more (and yes, the glorious hair was on display). I don't know, it's a bit of a toss up. As a teacher, the Sythesia has to be a good idea. Just showing off the performance though, taking it out and zooming back is a lot more effective. I may be alone, but I like the old way.

  • @Senescence I prefer it zoomed out as well. It's just that when recording with the phone I can't preview the shot from the piano. So I may have to take some time to figure positioning out and then mark the placement with masking tape. I also think that if I zoom back out I can position the synthesia display relatively inobtrusively, or at least not have to put it on top of my arm. Remembering to shoot in widescreen will help as well :P

  • The synethesia overlay is really awesome but... nooooo we can't see your awesome hair any more

  • Agreed. The synthesia is a good addition to the video. Now we actually follow what you're playing.. For a little bit :p.

  • Very cool concept showing the synthesia.
