I agree with the notion of a greater consciousness that we are all a part of. I do agree with you in your point that you shouldn't have anything crammed down your throat. As Christians, the parable of Jesus telling his followers, he will make them "fishers" of men, I think has alot to do with Christians "recruiting". other, non believers, I myself am a Christian, but it was a decision that no one made for me, and I don't bash or hate those who don't believe in what I have found comfort in. I like your analogy about the lasagna. You are willing to discuss things but there is a respectful way to discuss topics with ppl that may not agree with you. Someone whose mother makes their favorite lasagna can DISCUSS their mother's lasagna with you right after having eaten yours but there is a polite way to discuss things and there is a rude way. If a person doesn't have tact and respect for other ppl's beliefs, then they need to think before they speak or not speak on the topic at all.

Errrm, you are aware that American Indian tribes used to go to war with each other and in some cases outright slaughtered each other aren't you? Then there were those tribes who practiced human sacrifice, but in an entirely peaceful way of course. I believe God likes the way you think. Religion is MAN MADE. What God desires is truth and goodness. That is what I believe. You could be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, ect. If you have found a way to be a good man, that is all that was intended.

Craig, you probably will go to hel, but that's nothing to worry about. Hel was originally the realm of the dead in the old norse cosmology that the christians appropriated and distorted. The bible never uses the word "Hel" but rather "Sheol" in the old testament and "Gehenna" in the new which are not the same as Hel. Hel in the old northern European religion was not a place of torture and punishment but merely the place where souls went to rest after death and to await reincarnation.
"Why do people of big religions want to tell you what to believe?". Good question. It is the same as asking: "why are succesfull species succesfull at reproducing?". It is what makes them succesfull! If a religion would not indoctrinate their children and would not oppose the believes of atheist that religion would die out, and nobody would ever hear of it. Unfortunately religion, by it’s nature, demands that there be no room for debate. I mean, people who aren’t of your particular faith are looked down at as inferior. I agree with the notion of a greater consciousness that we are all a part of. It's like we're all a compartmentalised, subjective version of God, and together we create the complexity that ignites our desire to know. Well that sounded pretentious but you get what I mean. I hate it when people try and tell me they know, so we needed bother. They only know their own truth, not ours.

I'm an Atheist, but I think that if there is a "God" he would appreciate you using the brain he gave you. If there is a God he must have "given you" a brain for a reason, so you could figure things out on your own, and think for yourself. And as long as you make wise decisions, I don't think "God" would punish anybody for their beliefs.

Hi Craig, I just wanted compliment you on your diplomacy. I respect your beliefs.
I'm a practicing christian and I serve at my church, but I don't consider myself "Religious", I'm a christ follower. I will share with anyone what I believe and why I believe what I believe, but I think people need to determine things for themselves. All Jesus want me to do is show them Love and respect

I do agree with you in your point that you shouldn't have anything crammed down your throat. As Christians, the parable of Jesus telling his followers, he will make them "fishers" of men, I think has alot to do with Christians "recruiting". other, non believers, I myself am a Christian, but it was a decision that no one made for me, and I don't bash or hate those who don't believe in what I have found comfort in. We all, reap what we sow, no matter what you believe.

ive come to my own sense to figure out what i want to believe in and no man or religion will tell me other wise. ive witness birth, death and miracles. i agree with your stand on what you want to believe because thats your given right. but when you say people are telling you that your wrong. Theyre just misguided but they do mean well. This world is a big mystery nothing will be 100% understandable. No man will fully understand why we were put on this earth.

In my opinion it makes no sense to think that the mind goes on without the brain. When the brain goes, so does the mind since it is the collective information of the brain. I really liked the way you described death as the same state as pre-birth. Very beautiful!

That assumes of course that the mind resides in the brain. We don't really have proof that it does. The idea of a soul would allow for the mind to be separate from the brain, but using the hardware and information of the brain to interface with the physical universe.

Very good video! I feel the very same way as you do. There are many Christians on Youtube who send me messages trying to convert me and I'm like you can believe what you want but I don't personally believe that. I think many do it because they're insecure in their own beliefs. 10/10

What you are saying in a nice way is that you are a rational person and not deluded into mythology. You are tolerant enough to leave the deluded go their own way though. You have reached your believes via knowledge and life experience, not having some stories forced on you.

This video actually has helped me to identify one of my own faults. I believe that I could discuss lasagna with you at your own dinner table right after having tried yours and that I would not insult you in any way and you would enjoy the conversation. However, I do tend to assume in many cases that ppl are uninformed or don't have a strong enough belief system about things and that I could somehow make them smarter by affronting what I see as their weaknesses in thought. I like your analogy about the lasagna. You are willing to discuss things but there is a respectful way to discuss topics with ppl that may not agree with you. Someone whose mother makes their favorite lasagna can DISCUSS their mother's lasagna with you right after having eaten yours but there is a polite way to discuss things and there is a rude way. If a person doesn't have tact and respect for other ppl's beliefs, then they need to think before they speak or not speak on the topic at all.

All religions say their thinking is right, but I think they can't all be right, therefore they must all be wrong. Agnostic is the true religion....

Errrm, you are aware that American Indian tribes used to go to war with each other and in some cases outright slaughtered each other aren't you? Then there were those tribes who practiced human sacrifice, but in an entirely peaceful way of course. There's virtually no people on earth that hasn't at some point inflicted war and had war inflicted upon them. Brutality is a universal phenomenon.

I have watch alot of your vids before. I can say that I understand in a way where you are coming from in this one. I have had many religions pushed, well I feel as they are being pushed on me. Christian, Muslim, Jehovah Witness are three that people have pushed on me. I respect them and there religion. I dont tell them to piss off. I love learning new things and Im open to any one that wants to talk to me about religion or any thing else. But in the end they dont understand its not for me. G vid

I believe God likes the way you think. Religion is MAN MADE. What God desires is truth and goodness. That is what I believe. You could be Christian, Muslim, Jewish, ect. If you have found a way to be a good man, that is all that was intended.

We "press" our beliefs, because the truth that we believe to be true says that you can love and know God personally.
Truth is narrow in nature.
Faith is a key word in religion; faith in an afterlife/God. You have faith as well; faith in what you have experienced. If you only have faith in what you experience, you miss out on vital knowledge.

In the norse myths the god Balder goes to hel when he dies so it is clearly not a place of punishment because Balder was the fairest and most beloved of all the gods. Our ancient native European beliefs were hijacked by the christians who worship a foreign god of middle eastern origin. Our own native gods are not like their god Craig, you should do some research on Odinism and Asatru. You might find it's the right religion for you. It encourages you to think for yourself.

Craig, you probably will go to hel, but that's nothing to worry about. Hel was originally the realm of the dead in the old norse cosmology that the christians appropriated and distorted. The bible never uses the word "Hel" but rather "Sheol" in the old testament and "Gehenna" in the new which are not the same as Hel. Hel in the old northern European religion was not a place of torture and punishment but merely the place where souls went to rest after death and to await reincarnation.

"Why do people of big religions want to tell you what to believe?". Good question. It is the same as asking: "why are succesfull species succesfull at reproducing?". It is what makes them succesfull! If a religion would not indoctrinate their children and would not oppose the believes of atheist that religion would die out, and nobody would ever hear of it. The big religions are the most succesfull at growing in this manner.
