  • You`ve got one sweet Angel, she is your beautifull guide I have one Angel too!! His name is Tomas Why We cry?? God bless us!!!

  • Thank you she is doing so well! She is talking a little but can read and spell so she types her thoughts on her iPod touch or uses sign language! She was recently tested at school and is keeping up with her neurotypical peers in most areas! Zoe is a true character , friendly, funny, and helpful! I am overwhelmed by the progress she is making and I promise to post and update video soon!

  • @sageyrudman Thank you We`re waiting for! I have an autistic son he is also one beautifull angel .

  • I don't think Phil's comment was in any way negative! I'm surprised at you people, it's blatant honesty! It's not sugar-coated - it's something we all should think about, and I'm seriously mulling it over, having two Autistic cuties in preschool - what do I want to teach them - that they are disabled and broken, or differently abled and supremely unique individuals - incredible gifts from God? I vote the latter!

  • My 14 yrs old boyfriend has Autistic plus he has Down Syndrome. At school he has a aid at Madonna School Serving Special Students. I am 16 years old girl with Cerebral Palsy. I love Andrew because he is my sweetie protector for me.

    I love you Andrew

    Love from Schwartz Kayla

Love for everybody who goes to Madonna School Special Students or Omaha JCC "Jewish Community Center" " I am catholic but my dad is Jewish" My ballet best friends are catholic too. I take ballet on Mondays & Thursdays.

  • she is beautiful

  • This video was posted on my 14th birthday! Wonderful!!! "Her complexities are buried deeply in her silence." I love that line. Not because silence is easy, but because you understand that she is very complex. I love your observations. "amazing, complex, and stunning" That's great too. Again, fabulous video.

  • sooooooooo INCREDIBLY beautiful ! So autistic kids rock? How are they disabled again? I have lost my sense of it. Sounds like they are profound and awake to me. I love so many of the comments here. I am temporary in the right place <3 :)

  • She is absolutly stunning. I am in school right now so I can work with disabled children. I want to run a hippotherapy barn, and I want to adopt a deaf blind, or autistic and blind child once I am through school. They have so much to offer, and people don't realize that.

  • Thank you for showing your beautiful little girl to all of us. It is a wonderfully unique opportunity to be around someone with autism. Next door to us is an autistic boy. I came to see him from time to time and would talk or read to him in his silence. One of my great joys so far in life was when I came home from college and his mother said he had been looking for me. I saw Romeo and he smiled and said Hi. Words do not describe how that felt.

  • You are special. As a mum with an autistic boy I can think of no one better to live next to. x

  • Its interesting that you call her your 'rainbow'. You couldnt be more right. A rainbow is a promise of God. She is your promise. More parents should have the love for their child that you have. She is beautiful.

  • Absolutely lovely job!

  • I don't know whats more beautiful! The video of your precious girl or your love for her that is so evident. My Mya also has autism but autism doesnt have her. Thanks for making me smile and for sharing Zoe with us.

  • Absolutely breathtaking. She is precious. God bless her!

  • She is beautiful

  • Wow! Stunning, touching! This actually made me tear up! I loved every second, every picture. She is an angel, you are very blessed to have such a great child. I also love your quote "She is free from the shackles of normalcy that oppress. those who surround her" - AMAZING!

  • thank you ...ireally appreciate your feedback

  • She is so lovely!

I have a little one named Zoe too! :)

  • she is the most beautiful little girl ive ever seen!

  • Your daughter is so precious!! She has the face of an Angel.

  • she is such a beautiful child,i heard people talk about cures but i dont really belive them,i have heard lots of reasons but i think we are all still in the dark about what causes it,

  • cure autism?torrincats. cure is for deseases. autism is not a desease. i refuse to look at my son like that. he is wonderfull. a miracle. autism is a magical sectet world, only seen by those who want to see.

  • When Autism is accompanied by enterocolitis, or food sensitivities, which can cause umberable pain and discomfort, then those things must be dealt with. Sometimes in the process a few of the Autistic traits disappear.

I put my son an the gfcf diet and his chronic diahrea went away. A week ago I put him on the SCD Diet and he stopped stimming and sleeps all night and his pain is gone. He is still autistic, and none-verbal, but he feels good. that's my idea of cure.

  • ok i agree on that one. that is cure. but i ment like cure autism in a way that autismis totally gone. diets and meds can reduce or take away some symptoms. and i am happy that it worked for you. feel good is a good thing! my son is non verbal and autistic too. and has some problems to the side. but the thing i tried to say is that there is no cure for autism.that autism is not a desease.

  • hi , i saw some of your movies, your kid is wonderfull! and i agree the accompanied things have to be treated. but autism is no desease in mho. my son has epileptical meds and we did and do floortime and did sonrise. to make things better for him. i dont say sit back and let it happen cuz there is nuttin you can do. but a desease..no.

  • amen, most disabled people, even sefere ones are against cure or preventing, its part of diversity and needs accepting and respect, cure society of ignorance, neevr try to change us, we just difdferent race/ culture of peolpe and we are unique ;-) respect and cheers to you and your child

  • i couldnt agree with you more!!! ...cure sociey. it is sicker than we think. lots of times i say the autism of my kid is a challenge. the handicap lays with the people that dont accept that we arnt all the same.

  • Don't feel too sorry for us. A lot of us love life. Everyone has different struggles. Autistic people may have struggles that you don't have, but I bet you have struggles that autistic people don't.

  • What if the disability is injuring the child? Should we love and embrace it then? Should I accept it when my son pokes his eyes out or pulls his hair out because it is a part of his autism? I love my son, he is wonderful, and so much happier now with just a little help.

  • remember your daughter is blessed too............to have you as her mummy :-)

  • oh my god.... this is the most BEAUTIFUL girl i've eer seen!!!! after my baby of course... i have to say that, haha, im a mom, you know this things...

  • Go to Donna Gates website....she cures maily autism.....my cousin was cured and had severe Autism.....her theropy works....

  • It's True. Newborns critical cell formation are the first 7 years. Every month and year that goes by cells will replicate to establish the foundation for the blueprint of what the cells will be the rest of the child's life. Newborns injected with Toxic Vaccines ingredients will compromise cell formation and the development of the child will be prone to have early child hood diseases. • Thank you for shareing you beautyful daughter! I have a 2 1/2 year old that is autistic and I love him deeply he is my heart!

  • A common face, yet an incredibly beautiful version of it.

  • she is such a beautiful girl!! very touching video...made me cry..thinking of my sweet little brother who can communicate with his eyes or with a smile! thank you

  • this is an amazing video.. i work with autistic children and they are simply amazing.. i work with an eight y/o girl who is very high functioning and her brother is also autistic and is seventeen and is very low functioning.. its very sad but for the past 4 months i look at the little girl as my little sister. i love her to death. amazing video. tears steam down my face. i posted it on myspace for my friends. amazing response. thanks

  • Absolutely beautiful child you have! I have a three year old son with Autism also and I love him more then life. I can honestly say that we have such a unique connection as you do with your daughter also. They are a gift...............

  • thanks for sharing such a touching montage. i love to hear about parents who accept their children with autism. so many parents are so busy trying to "cure" their child they miss the chance to enjoy their gifts. thank you.

  • she is so beautifull and she had a grate mama

  • She is beautiful!

-mother of a 4-year-old autistic boy

  • Children pick up on these things. If you don't view autism as a disability- Zoe will not either. She is beautiful and a wonderful teacher for us all. You are a special parent- few people actually get to where you are.

  • che bambina stupenda!

  • Stunning, truly stunning. We are so lucky aren't we. Sharlet is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

  • My son was diagnosed as moderate/severe autism at 24mths. Now, at just turned 5 yrs old, he is amazing everyone, especially his teachers; going from 0-500 words in 18 mths! Seeing other proud parents online here reinforces to me that our children have picked their parents well! With our love/passion/enthusiasm they can only succeed in life. Never stop believing. I know I won't. Great vid.

  • you are a very very blessed mom to have such a beautiful doughter...I´m not so very good at english beacouse of that I´m from sweden but I can still understand how close you and your daughter are each other...you must be a great mom...I think this video can teach a lot...thanks for sharing it with me and rest of youtube

  • I'm so proud of you. You see the person beyond the condition and the blessings of it too. My father could see that in me. Zoe and I had the same gaze. In my case due to meaning blindness, lack of simultaneous processing of self and other (so face goes blank when registering other as self goes offline) and face blindness. Warmly,

    Donna Williams *)

    autistic author/artist.

  • Donna thank you so much for responding to my video. I have read your books and am honored that you have taken the time to comment. you are an inspiration ,a true poet author composer performer and artist.. in short ...amazing. lol.

  • One tip, with the visual perceptual challenges, keep it kinesthetic... if its moving it has meaning... gestural signing, representational objects, kinesthetic learning, physical patterning... its the world of the meaning blind. t'aint Temple's visual thinker world... miles from it :-) Donna *)

  • What a beautiful little girl. You are blessed mom.

  • A beautiful video, your doll is so cute... hold on, someday a rainbow...

  • Such a beautiful video and a beautiful child!

  • Every single child is a precious present to their parents. Your baby is so adorable. Beast wishes to your little zoe and you !

  • Every single child is a precious present to their parents. Your baby is so adorable. Beast wishes to your lilltle zoe and you !

  • She is a beautiful little girl=)

  • I truly believe God sent her here to show that autism isn't just some disease. it's only a part of her. Just a part of what remmarkable beautiful girl she is now and what a remarkable beautiful women she will become.

  • Zoe is a beautiful child. Her eyes do speak volumes in the photos. I can only imagine how she is in person. Bless you. Thank you for sharing.

  • This is my last pair of contacts and tomorrow is Sunday! -I'm absolutely moved by this, beautifully done.

  • What absolutely beautiful photos. Your daughter is gorgeous!

  • I can see you are as lucky as me...

  • Congratulations on being blessed with an Autistic child. I am the Proud Aspie Mom Of Autistic Kids and I am so lucky to have them. A lady in my church said to me early on when I was doing the "woe is me" thing that I was so lucky because God had blessed me with three Autistic kids and that she prayed every day that she would live worthy enough to have God bless her with an Autistic child. You are a chosen parent. Keep up the good work.

  • What a beautiful tribute to you daughter and your unconditional love for her. I wish the world were filled with more mothers like you!

  • <u><b> aww shes sooo cute :]

  • my autistic daughter was recently tested for allergies. they determined that she is allergic to wheat(Gluten)Since she has been on the gluten free diet for 2 months she has suddenly started making sounds, and pronouncing vowels. I recommend everyone with an autistic child eliminate wheat from their diet. We are surprised at the change, and continuing progress.

  • Wow! You conveyed so well exactly what it is like to have a wonderful, autistic child. They are beautiful and amazing!

  • u have a very beatiful daughter ur lucky

  • Good message coupled with a gorgeous kid equals great video. Very sweet.

  • She is beautiful, a very moving slideshow. Makes me appriciate the few words my 3 yr old ASD son Simon uses.

  • She is baeutiful

  • Beautiful. A good strong positive message here. Autism is not the end of the world - well done, it made me light up :) Ive posted a video responce :)

  • thankyou.i dont think the video response went through maybe u could post it again?

  • She is a beautiful girl!

  • shes beautiful your lucky

  • There is NO other song that best fits our children. There is a part where she wispers "can't remember when I last saw you laugh.." It makes me cry, I would do anything to hear my little mans laugh again. :o) Your Zoe is lovely, and this is an amazing video.

  • in the last month at nearly 5 years old zoe has started talking. i am stunned. dont ever give up! I just bet your little man will too.lol.

  • another song that really "fits" is "how soon is now"by the smiths. some of the lyrics... "Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar

I am the son and heir

    Of nothing in particular

    You shut your mouth

    How dare you say

I go about things the wrong way

I am human and I need to be loved

    Just like everybody else does."

  • amen

  • ooohhh, I just went and listened to that song, it is beautiful. Thank you so much.. We were in the store yesterday and Colin grabbed a yogurt, and put it in my hand, and said "food" I started sobbing in the middel of walmart. It is people like you though, that keep me motivated. Your Zoe is in my prayers. :o)

  • Most touching and beautiful! Thank you.

  • My beloved son is also autistic and silent. Your clip is a testiment to the love that makes us strong. It also gave me a lump in my throat. God Bless.

  • That is a really nice video. People really should know that autistic people are practically the exact same as anyone else, and we should just accept them.

  • Beautiful; this was just beautiful. I really feel for Zoe and her Mom, have tremendous respect for them. I have a seven year old son Zachery who' autistic. I know what Zoe and her family are going through. Thanks a billion for Zoe's mom for posting this video.

  • This is an amazing and fantastic video.

  • Its as if God put each autistic child on earth to teach everyone how to be a better person.

  • Cutie pie ...X

  • After seeing the filth that the likes of Autism Speaks has been trying to put into my mouth, this video made me weep tears of joy instead of sorrow. I envy Zoe for having such a wonderful and thoughtful mother.

  • That's sort of what I thought. April has been infuriating me. THIS video (and the one about Jorie from her brother) THIS is Autism Awareness!

  • Yes, it is, and once again, it is exactly what they did not show on Oprah. I never thought much of Oprah, but I look at videos like this, then I look at her autism episode, and it makes me incredibly bitter. I just hope Zoe gets to grow up without learning the kind of extreme hatred that disrupts my sleep every evening now.

  • i read the transcripts from the oprah show ...when are they (the media) going to do a show on autism that presents a family that is happy and well adjusted. our family certainly is.

  • And as for zoe being exposed to this extreme hatred , I can only hope that my extreme love will counter-act any negative self - image that these self absorbed.. pity-seeking...crybabies are endlessly presenting.

  • First of all, Oprah's autism show made every conceivable effort to erase the distinction the audience had between autistic and retarded. After seeing some of the children she told us were autistic, I was gobsmacked. And if you think it is so brave to show a "happy, well adjusted" family (were we watching the same show?), then why wasn't Oprah brave enough to show an actual autistic adult putting things into their own words?

  • i read the transcript and did not actually see the show. from what i read it seemed to have mostly negative messages. i would love it if they presented the world with an adult autistic perspective. but for now at least we have you tube.lol.

  • some excerpts of the program illustrating my point."But, if you're living with autism, there is no mystery about how difficult and devastating it can be. ""We had to make that choice for Adam," Jesse says. "I loved that house. I remember walking out, and I just looked at that house for one last time. It was almost like looking at my life that could have been."

  • "Sometimes you just feel so small," Michele "Just to get your child to look at you, you will do anything.""This is the national health crisis of our time," on a more poiitive note one of the parents s "I often said that years ago I was looking for a 'love past infinity'—that's what I would call it, something that I loved greater than myself. And when Adam came into my life, it was that love past infinity,"

  • She is Beautiful and this is an Amazing video you done a great job Mama

  • congratilation zoe. you have touched the hearts of more than one tonight. one beautiful little girl has now had the chance to change lives.

and she's done it because of who she is.

    not by her labels

  • wow she is so pretty. shes one of the most gorgeous girls ive ever seen. you should be proud to have such a lovely and unique little girl and in her own way u know she loves u.

  • How can u put a label on such a beautiful little girl?

  • Ugh, you made me cry. This is beautiful, you and Zoe are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Beautiful, Beautiful Zoe! I can tell that you are very spiritual by the words you chose. Zoe has a purpose here, and I'm sure she has touched many people

already. Wow! I can see what she's done for you already. (I don't even know you. smile) Please keep us posted. She is a beautiful child inside and out. Autism just means "Self" We can learn so much from her. Thanks for sharing her with us.

    Peace!

  • She's beautiful.

  • Zoe is lovely, thank you for sharing her with us.

  • Thankyou for sharring your video. Very beautiful. She has a great Mama.

  • To Zoe my whole life i've just wanted to make a difference in a childs life!

But you not I make the difference!

    Thank you!

    love, Gina

  • wonderful zoe would love this she is a lucky little girl to have a great mommy like you.... I have a nonverbal son with autism..the words you wrote for zoe at the end is exactly what I tell my son all the time..

  • You don't need speech to communicate.

Many autistic children learn to communicate by adulthood, when they are ready... What you are doing is giving her a loving environment in which to grow up, as many experiences as she can tolerate, love and connection even though she doesn't talk.

Autistic kids need moms who love them, just as any kid does. Yours is lucky to have you. Remember when the bad times come and you are both stressed out, that she does love you, even if she doesn't say it in words.

  • What a beautiful girl and a beautiful message. We feel the same about our son Julius. Autism has a beautiful face.

  • Very beautiful video. This might be an odd question, but has Zoe ever been diagnosed with eczema? I'm wondering if alot of kids with autism get diagnosed with that skin condition. My ABA therapist told me that other kids she worked with had it. So I figured I'd ask parents on youtube if their kids have it. Just wondering if their is a connection, my son has it. It's mostly under control, but he gets his flare ups at times.

  • just to give you some feedback... My little one has had just a few odd skin eruptions. My older brother, who I'm thinking is un-dx-ed Aspie, has life-long food allergies and severe eczema.

  • SHe is absolutely beautiful. You did a great job constructing this slideshow of your daughter.

  • your daughter is beautiful keep being a great mom!!

  • Shame on you Phil. How awful that you could post such a comment. This Mum is showing her love and acceptance of her child. your true colours are shining through Phil, not pretty. If you don't have anything positive to say, keep your comments to yourself. To Zoe's Mum thanks for the video and the stunning comments about your daughter she is so lucky to have Mum like you. From: Sammy, Perth Australia.

  • zoe is a beautiful child and her mom is a great mom and a very kind person that has inspired me tremendously. she is dedicated to her daughter also. her and zoe will be just fine. but i do stand by my comment. take a look at the comment again. its just two questions. i think they deserved to be answered by every parent of an autistic child.

  • I just love all the pictures but the one in the beginning with the towel on Zoe is just too much. It reminds me of that commercial with the grandparents having the internet "battle" over cutest picture. Zoe would be awfully hard to beat.

  • Her beauty is surely showing and I am sure you (being mama) will be among the very few that she will always be allowed into her beautiful secret world. What an angelic sweet face. From the mom of an autistic fraternal twin son (lucas) who is 5 yrs. old and non-verbal.Thanks for sharing.

  • will she accept her autism? will she have the chance?

  • Not with people like you in the way. And Yes Phil I want to overcome some roadblocks of my autism but I do love myself and some of my talents are attributes of my autism. Some not all of the roadblocks that have stopped me from using them in an effective way are people who refuse to acknowledge my talents and focus only on my "label" I hope and pray your sons future is not my present. I do accept my autism.

  • Go Aspiegirl!

  • Don't allow arrgant people to get to you. I have worked with children with autism for the last 3 years, and am currently seeking my degree in this field. Zoe is truly a beautiful and amazing child, as you are an insirational mother. This video touched my heart
