It came out a few month before, but both instances were based on popular Japanese cinema in either case.

Not usually a literal explosion with body parts and veins and bones, but similar.

I created an article translation request at Wikipedia for the Japanese Wikipedia article about this game to be translated into its English Wikipedia article, and the translator Noveltyghost did it. Now the English article needs more citations and a few more images. For the fighting game engine, M.U.G.E.N, it needs more Data East characters. All I can find are Blade (Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja) and some Fighter's History characters, including Karnov and the Ox from the Karate Champ arcade.

I've had this since it's been out and I finally beat it like a month ago. Why take so long? Was it hard? Not really..the damn thing would glitch at one point or another nearly EVERY TIME i did a playthru (got stuck too ). My advice is to use the ninja every time and be careful using magic...that's what usually got me stuck under the floor (good thing its not on xbox live or i'd be reported)

I love Data East's games for the most part (Burger Time, Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory, Tumble Pop, Diet Gogo, Joe & Mac/Caveman Ninja, Joe & Mac Returns, Edward Randy: The Cliffhanger, Crude Buster/Two Crude, Karate Champ, Bump 'n Jump, Lock'n Chase, Spinmaster, Robocop 2, Captain America and several others). I made a project devoted to all of Data East's arcade games called DEEP, but it went down since the host decided to drop the domain. Someday I plan to get it back up.
