Phil could you do a video about the Village? I don't want to pressure you or anything. I've always wanted to go there but may not have the chance *sighs*
It's amazing to me how they come up with such elaborate and fascinating displays every year!! Thanks so much for taking us along Phil!! Blessings, Ang
wow those are freekin amazing, thanks so much for showing them....i especially loved the first ones before you cut to the apple store...the amount of detail and work in them is incredible...we dont have anything like that here.
Christmas is a unique holiday here. Not that big of a shopping holiday yet, but there are a lot of displays. If Jo and I get to some of the major shopping areas, we'll be sure to photo/video them!
Thanks Phil for posting this - I usually go every year and stand in the cold and see the windows but this year I'm not coming in until 1/9 to see Bye Bye Birdie.
Some of the displays are works of art. I especially like the Queen of Hearts window. The video doesn't do it justice in terms of detail and perspective, etc. But I think you can get the gist.
This video was shot with a Canon Vixia 20. The last one was shot with a Sony Cybershot. Both do pretty good quality HD. The Canon has more manual control options and shoots 1080 resolution, although I never upload more than 720 on YT.
I hope you, my good tuber friend, has a joyous Holidays season AND that your New Year is filled with love, good will, prosperity and peace... Sincerly Yours... Stu
it's nice to see some effort made to brighten up our dark winter nights. It's bleak here in my town in west cork ireland, no lights this year, we're broke.
thank u so much 4 this. i am in australia so it is always summer here at xmas, but somehow i still have to associate it with winter as the rest of the world does, so i luv these displays of NYC in the wintertime. i hope to see more. hope you do a NYE one maybe. i have lived in america a bit and u realy have a way with your camera of showing me where i was then.
thank you so much..., thanks. i would love to see more of winter there, it doesn't even snow where i am.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The problem with New Year's Eve is that all the action is concentrated in Times Square and it is utter madness. I've done it, but probably never again.

@orju The window designers at the big stores are well paid artisans. Other designers from all over the world come to borrow ideas from them.

This year it hasn't been so cold, so it's easier to go out and look. Have fun at Birdie.

I'm loving these videos Phil.
They sure do know how to "do" Christmas in NYC don't they. I'd love to visit at this time of year.
Maybe one day? :)
BTW What type of camera have you got? It shoots good quality & i'm thinking of getting a newer one myself..

Thanks Paul. I saw a couple of vids of decorations in Cornwall today. They were very nice, more human scale. New York's decorations are on steroids.
FantasticBabblings 2 years ago
Much prefer the look of your lights in NYC, than the tacky ones where I live.

I love the "shoe tree". Thanks for sharing this will all of us Phil.
Bikermom69 2 years ago
Me too. I thought the whole shoe window was reminiscent of Andy Warhol's days as a commercial artist. He was know for his drawings of shoes.
