  • What is the court case Hitchen's mentions?

  • @AntiochusMegas He's talking about Roman Polansky and the stagetory rape of a 14 year old girl.

  • Hitchens is effin awesOOOOOOME!!!!! I have to listen to this again :)) Wham! POW!

  • If I had 1/3 the vocabulary of Hitchens, I'd be a linguistic genius.

  • LOL

  • @scotttebben englisn is not my native language, at least i try .wonders whose the moron ?it did not occure to you stop being jugemantal before knowing and and questions first

  • @scotttebben Those (yourself) who misspell write as wright should be very careful whom they call a moron...

  • in fact christianity makes referance that animals don't hav souls or won't b in heavan. sinful and unable 2 understand god, they shouldn't b able to hav emotions and feel protective...and yet they do. goodness, outside of god. we've been doin it 4 millions upon millions of years.

  • Lets not forget that the Golden Rule also applies to 9/11 and suicide bombings.

  • Mr. Hitchens argument is so profound and sustained; I am convinced that any thinking, intelligent person MUST concede that his position is correct. We all should be scared for humanity to think otherwise.

  • :]

  • Hi, If your an atheist as am I, please check out my channel, where I'll be assessing major issues our society is facing in terms of religion and basic ethics... As well as the occasional video game content as I am a bit of a gamer..

I hope you'll check it out. Cheers, Mitchel

  • @TIME4LOGIC quit spaming good videos and contribute 2 the comment section like every1 else

  • Religion is gay lol

  • we all know what you mean and how you feel but when people start dissing it and calling it names then they give all atheists a bad name, and as a minority thats not what we need.

  • @codyharber I don't c how religion is fabulous...

  • Hitchens destroys straw man after straw man and nobody seems to notice. Its hard to do so when when you are a mesmerized sheep taking everything coming out of your guru's mouth.

  • @saqib09

Not true. He falsifies claims made by the religious with counter factual logic.

  • @nickthelight Yes, true, he does. But that doesn't mean he doesn't do the other thing I said. I hope he get well though.

  • the catholic church did civilise europe from paganism and constant barbarian war, stop Moorish and Turkish Islamists from taking over Europe, and fostered the renaissance. Hitch never mentions this tho...

  • @Gonzoidzz propogating witch hunts and propelling european cultures into the dark ages and expensive holy wars while the indian and chinese cultures were in their mathematical and intelligent primes. it was also the time of the bubonic and black plagues. I woudn't b 2 proud of this era of ignorance. the renaissance arose in contradiction 2 the superstition of the time, in revolt 2 the ultra conservative and cultural censorhip of arts and sciences.

  • @cruelbusiness1984

The Dark Ages were brought to an end by the spread of the Church in case you didn't know and India and China, although I have some respect for those cultures, pale in comparison to the achievements of Western man.

  • @Gonzoidzz The pagans and barbarians also believed in god(s)............Its not until the rise of secularism, humanism and rational thought do we have the advancements in science and medicine.

  • @la2111

Much humanist thought came out of the Church and many Popes were patrons of humanists. Google Renaissance humanism.

  • @ydyammo excellent reference

  • Boycott Polanksi films. Boycott his Hollywood apologists and enablers. He'll die in the comfort of a hospital bed or at his home before he sees a prison cell. He should die in a 6x9 cell at Pelican Bay. When he is finally gone, we will be better as a world without him.

  • Why did they attach the quote from the moderator on EVERY one of all eleven videos? Its shit.

  • @MrLewey10 Because this is the little channel in the corner of Youtube...

  • That was a moving and heartbreaking and completely convincing argument.

  • At 2:15)

    That IS sado massochism.

This was one of those things (the love and fear your god) that made me scratch my head IE it made no sense at all. Which was another contributor to my atheism.

  • The atrocities of religion, and yes I have been asked many times how I could possibly raise my children without the 'moral guidance' of god.

I think I will fill someone's smug ear the next time I am pontificated upon.

  • @Albtraumen Damned well right. Go right after them. Don't let them get away with it. Theirs is a position of abject immorality.

  • does anyone know where to find an article on this Fazil/Fazir Yusef? Remember you can't post links on youtube, but if someone could point me in the right direction would be most appreciated.

  • The Polanski prosecutor said he would have ran if he was Polanski at the time.

  • Hitchens on Polanski. I have yet to watch Wanted and Desired but I will charge into it with great skepticism. As directors and producers defend one of their own, I'm sure any rational person can see through the cloud of smoke.

  • Contemporary with Socrates...

Lao Tze, in Tao De Jing

To know that you do not know is strength.

Not knowing that you do not know is a sickness.

The cure begins with the recognition of the sickness.

    The Tao-Master is not sick,

but he is sick of sickness.

    Thus, he is well.

  • Hitchen's argument here is exceptionally strong. On the one hand, the secularists reaction to Roman Polanski's action, and, on the other, similar treatment of young girls, children, by the monotheistic religions to the present day.

  • "secularists reaction to Roman Polanski's action"

    ???

  • Yes, I hesitated when I typed that, it should have been: - "...people's reaction..." I just wanted to say that atheists and secularists who are accused of having no proper morals, on the contrary, do have morals, while the believers who claim to have objective morals, have in their religions, and in the practices of those religions, quite immoral things.

  • @dewonthegrass Not only that, they actually believe that they NEED religion for morals meaning they admit that if their religion didn't teach those morals they would do immoral things.

  • @dewonthegrass and in fact, atheists that have morals, come by them honestly, and sincerely, because they realize the social value of loving their fellow man, and caring about/for others... versus- a mandate by an imaginary authority figure, with a bribe of eternal life to entice you.

  • @DNRvideos Very well put sir/madam. I salute you.

  • Hello, artyfarty2,

Are you really a "reverend"? It says so on your channel. :)

  • ;-)

  • DewOnTheGrass, these links might help if you want to be one too :P

I just did mine at the second site, you may call me The Reverend Gliktch xD

  • And yes, this is a particularly strong segment. ★★★★★

  • how do you type those square characters?

  • Watch the Bill Maher show With Richard Dawkins. Both Dawkins and Maher have strong opinions on this topic.

  • Any idea if we'll be able to see the debate with Stephen Fry against Ann Widdecombe and the bishop that took place the other day?

  • I second this. I'd love to see it.

  • It was definately filmed, no idea when itll be released tho

  • On the night they stated that it will be going out to 70million people worldwide on the 7th/8th November

  • Glad to be one of the first to watch this. I am a huge Hitchens fan - love your channel. Keep it coming. :-)
