I didn't see the first episode. It seems this one (2nd) is all about consumerism and addiction. Very accurate depiction of life today. It's more than just entertainment...but entertainment is being turning into life. It's interesting on so many levels.
Some of these comments in my opinion illustrate a key point that Pig related episode was illustrating: Everyone on the internet can go die and we'd probably be better off, and yes,I get the hypocrisy.
I took a great interest in the great aspect of social commentary in the first episode. I look forward to the next episode. Looking at this advert I sense at some point the program commenting on pornography. Not sure what else... It is actually a great advert!
The problem is that "compelling viewing" has become the standard and decency, intelligence, reality, honesty, goodness and TALENT have been left behind. Channel 4 and ITV are in the forefront of this Dumb-down revolution. They will not rest, it seems, until they have reinforced every negative aspect of our wilting society.
"Good TV" is bad for Britain. TV Journos are scum. Those who follow them are naive.
@briandpowers Before you go commenting saying "Your replying to a 1 week comment blah blah blah" The reason why is because I want to get this off my chest anyway now that I said that let me tell you this. If you don't like watching the show all you had to do was stop watching it no one was forcing you to watch it. Hell you said that you didn't like Channel4 but your posting a comment on a show that you don't like and a channel that you don't like also that makes sense to me!
Anyone who thinks that this show was in anyway realistic is niave.
There is no way that a PM would do this.
Many Britons would see such an act as a violation of our nation.
Only ghouls and pervs would actually watch it if it did happen in real life.
This was not a drama. It was a comedy script pretending to be a drama.
It had a fine cast and started interestingly, but the writer simply lacked the talent to make it work as he went from creative to rediculous. It became childish.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
BLACK MIRROR - CB's Masturbation.
This was typical tabloid drama written by a childish and unknowledgeable scumbag who, typically, is one of Channel 4s (Worst channel on UK tv) fave "dramatists".
A childish joke is not great drama. It is pathetic and insulting to believe that decent people would watch the prime minister of UK do a pig. Many Britons actually have integrity and dignity.
Those who would watch such a thing in real life are superficial, brainless scum traitors.
@briandpowers Well one man's Depthless Trash is another man's breath of fresh air amidst the stagnant piss of mind numbing repetition doled out by Eastenders and X factor et al. Maybe you should just stick to the BBC, eh? Your country is proud of you, patriot!!
@briandpowers You think it's the worst? So why watch it to review it and why come to a video which has CHANNEL 4 in the title? That's like being allergic to something but doing it anyway because you're stupid.
can anyone please tell me what the name of the song is that is used in the channel 4 trailer for the national anthem. i know its not 'The Rip', by Portishead its something completely different. sounds like nine inch nails. im having a alot of difficulty finding it let alone the the trailer. thanks again
i was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the first ep actually was. Totally absurd but plausible, played as straight as possible, funny without laying out jokes, quality cast ~and so on. Brooker and Bathurst should be chuffed.
Odd statement to make but somehow this condensed Channel 4's entire personality in ~50 minutes and did it proud
Brilliant. It says so many things about society that are spot on. Particularly this mentality that people seem to have where they have a thirst for watching public figures be destroyed and humiliated. Bravo Mr. Brooker.
David Cameron: "Sex with a pig? But that's Tuesday nights!" David Cameron: "Non-stop ass-rape of a pig? Fine, as long as the pig is a metaphor for the NHS". David Cameron*: "Forcing someone to have sex with a pig? That's last season. This year it's getting half a dozen white, full-time-working private sector bluecollars and sewing them together like a giant human centipede".
@MrPoooooo3 The first one is about the prime minister facing a dilemma when a member of the royal family is kidnapped, yeah that literally all the description said about it. Their staying pretty tight-lipped about it but if the advert is anything to go off it will probably be awesome!
@FuturePerfectElite - On the Ch4 website there's a wee clip of it. Very intriguing stuff with shades of Dead Set. This is a killer trail, but think it's maybe more socio-political drama than sci-fi, but who knows? Three whole episodes; let's hope Charlie gives us something special :)
f*&^% ITV ! That's like saying, The new Samsung Galaxy 2 is a great idea. Lets hope Apples new iphone will be better. But it never is, and its locked out in some form of consumer control deception. Much like Virgin Media's "Unlimited Broadband" that's NOT Unlimited.
If the ITV did its usual tricks, Charlie Brooker would end up like Andy Pandy on acid.
Channel 4 is always original and no matter what the ITV do , they will always be a blend of mediocre feckless fudge packers.
@BrokenCodex101 Knowing Brooker, they'll be some very dark laughs in there, so yeah, a black comedy for sure. The first ep concerns a request for the Prime Minister to fuck a pig on live TV. Sounds funny to me.
@fancythathat Channel 4's done some awesome stuff, Brass Eye for one, but they certainly did...lose their way. They've still done some excellent docs all the while though.
@ArthurFWTaylor Yeah they basically became obsessed with the wanker demographic in the mid-1990s. Like most things that are shit about the UK, it can be attributed to New Labour and their cuntish proclivities.
This looks good though. I hope it's full-on bitter Brooker and not post-Huq hair gel Brooker though.
@Dreddsk8 Saw the advert for this and have been banging my head aginst the wall trying to figure out what the song is. You have made my day. Was doing my head in. Thanks!!!

Amorphic, they shouldn't have been watching it in the first place.
They were the same as those who love to make celebrities cry or those awful people who sook out the video of the Ken Bigley murder.
There seems to be too little respect for anything these days.
Brooker's cheap shot at our society ignored the fact that not everyone buys into the bull that is modern tv.

As we can see from the last episode, Society has grown Apathetic towards everyone around them.
No longer do we care about people if they do one wrong thing. Mob Mentality rules today...
The Prime Minister was felt sorry for until her finger was 'cut off' and suddenly everyone hates him.
Quite like Cheryl Cole and the Gamu controversy, first she's the nations sweetheart, next minute she has death threats :P
People don't look behind the book cover anymore, its a shame :(
