Hello, i've been looking through a few of these generators and i cant find the right kind of generator :( is there a way how i can create a generator that produces both characters and numbers in this kind of way?:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
the numbers and characters have to be mixed up tho :)
Would be great if for example you had a number lets say 00X-0XX-XX0
and you wanted the X to become a random number from 0-9 ...
So the result would be 003-052-980 and then the second time generated it wont show the same result... it will keep generating different ones over and over again
LOL, I watched that video cos I wondered what you could use it for. And at the end I couldn't stop laughing after your final comments. NM it was still interesting.
generateserial(Optional ByVal length As Integer = 15) As String)
It shows the error under the parentheses after string, saying "End of Statement Expected". Also, when I pressed debug, it showed some message saying that the debug target was missing.
goog tutorial, but i feel like i need to replay a part 5 times at some points just so i can hear what you said because you spoke fast. Also, i was confused by what you meant by bracket, (, [, or {. But besides those two things great job
Thanks for the good feedback mate this is one of my earlier videos I'd like to think I've improved a lot since then in the sense I slow down a little and things are more clear. I also tend to call brackets parentheses in my new videos which could mean any kind of bracket more times than not I mean () other wise I specify square bracket or squigly bracket but I do forget at times :P
@draagonpwnz You could just make the generate button generate 4 random letter/numbers in 4 different textboxes and put a "-" label in between them... :)

In specific, this is the line:
generateserial(Optional ByVal length As Integer = 15) As String)
It shows the error under the parentheses after string, saying "End of Statement Expected". Also, when I pressed debug, it showed some message saying that the debug target was missing.

Very nice m8 but i want to add "-" between the numbers. Is that possible?
draagonpwnz 9 months ago
@draagonpwnz Between each number? or after a certain ammount of numbers (like 1-a-4-, or 3434-234e- 34..)

@TeachComputing after a certain ammount of numbers ;-)
