I have to agree with you. I think Gold actually showed some legit talent during these hands. Yes, at times he got caught, but at other times he made some solid moves. The guy actually showed more insight in these games than he showed in the WSP.
What would have been interesting in this hand is if Jamie 'had' put the straddle on.
Chances are Phil would have raised, and Jamie re-raised preflop. Then with Jamie to act first he almost certainly would have open pushed or check raised all in.
Phil bet waaay too much at the 8 minute mark.... if he bet less he could get him in to the pot and still have a chance to win it all on the flush. Props to Jamie for believing Phil has AK

he didn't play much on high stakes poker and he was pretty tight, but trust me he's the best in cash games, 17 million in 3 days to Andy Beal, one of the most winning players in the big game at Bellagio...and the most feared by the pros, that means something.

This show is the best on TV bar-none. I mean, hey WSOP is fun to watch but full of amateurs as well as WPT. This is high stakes cash game with the best of the best and some you've never heard before, and the occasional amateurs, and awesome color commentary by Gabe Kaplan. It's too bad I don't have DirecTV or GSN.

This show is the best on TV bar-none. I mean, hey WSOP is fun to watch but full of amateurs as well as WPT. This is high stakes cash game with the best of the best and some you've never heard before, and the occasional amateurs, and awesome color commentary by Gabe Kaplan. It's too bad I don't have DirecTV or GSN.
