BIGGGEST mistake the ducks made last year was to get rid of him, Im a kings fan and even saying that jiggy was prob the only duck i liked and with all his personal issues he has had over the years i liked him even more for playing through it. ducks are gonna win anything with Hiller hes not a playoff goalie and as u all saw last year i dont even think he can handle being a full time starter
R.I.P> Jiggy's career the ducks are worthless without him and pronger and to be sent to Toronto? his career is done. unless he could take them to the cup next year but i doubt it, him being the only decent player on the team.
The ducks aernt going to be amazing every year which people seem to think. without Prongs, Niedermayer, Beauchemin, Kunitz. all those big stars that helped us to the 07 finals and cup are all gone. i know at one point it wasnt Murray's fault but getting rid of Prongs took away some of the teams that feared the ducks dont anymore..sure we have Brown, and Parros but Prongs was an all around athlete.
why would you fire carlyle? hes taken the Ducks to the playoffs, and won a cup with them, but look as soon as Murray joins..Rob Niedermayer (gone) Chris Pronger (gone) i understand where your coming from but i feel that we need a new GM before a new coach.
@FreeXBird1993 Well, we already have a "new" GM in Bob Murray and, like you said, Pronger and Rob are gone, I just feel that he was good in the past, maybe not so much anymore. His record over the past 5 years speak for themselves especially after the Cup win. I think Carlyle's outlived his usefulness. Don't get me wrong, he's a good coach but I just don't think the system that he puts in is the right fit for this team.
Jiggy is such a cool guy i was trained by him for a week an dthe day before it started he was early by like an hour or something and mmy session was starting so i got a privet lesson from him really cool guy hes actually pretty shy though XD
I love the vid, you are a true fan for wishing Jiggy well. If he plays well in TO he will be treated godlike, we haven't had a good goalie since the Eagle, unless you count Rask. I am hoping that he will help Monster progress into a star as well. His 2 shutouts are a great start
Hey Roch20 i agree with you completely. Like his last game he was put in a back to back game against the best offense in the nhl. It sucks to watch him go since he's my idol. But hes doing very good right now. so i hope Carlye will feel like shit for letting him go when h edidnt give him a fair chance.
Well, I only blame Carlyle for not giving Jiggy an equal opportunity to Hiller. Otherwise, if Jiggy and Hiller played fairly equal games to each other and he ends up getting traded, I wouldn't have a problem with it but how he treated Jiggy over the course of the season that led to the trade is what tipped the glass over for me. I want Carlyle gone after this season.
Plus, he's younger too so I guess there's a little more long-term stability there. But still, I feel that he won the throne unfairly because he got more chances to play than Jiggy did.
Well, I get the feeling the Carlyle forced Murray's hand into trading him because if Murray wanted to trade Jiggy before the season started, this tribute would've been made and posted before the season started. Then, a few days later, Murray would've been fired because the Owners loved Jiggy.
Well, people like myself believe that Murray's hand was forced by Carlyle to trade Jiggy after it was clear that he was the back-up. I'd say, fire Carlyle first before firing Murray.
I'm glad he's taking advantage of the opportunity. Not many goalies are willing to go from a place of pure anonymity to a place where you get questioned for virtually everything you do.
A word of advice: Reviewing a book just by looking at the cover page but without actually reading is utter and complete ignorance. This is the impression you're giving me.
calm down bud, Jiggy's great, he's just sucked ever since 2007 and that's not just because they've been giving Hiller more oppurtunities, he has really just been bad. Although he's been solid with Toronto so far, and his debut was phenomenal.
Next time, please give us a head's up. But I disagree with you though. Jiggy's been great until halfway through 2008-2009, where he heard that his dad passed away. This year, he finally got over it but the coaching staff never gave him a second look. That's why I felt that Hiller won the throne unfairly.
I'm glad to have Giguere. But Duck fans don't be sad because Toskala is very good when he has some confidence and remember he was Nabokovs backup so he probably won't cause trouble being Hillers backup. On the other hand Blake is super fast and super fast and a great scorer, although he doesn't know what to do with the puck sometimes. He is a sniper and will work perfect with Getzlaf.
My greatest memories of Giguere as a Duck was when he helped sweep the Detroit Red Wings back in the 2003 playoffs and then nearly shut out the Minnesota Wild in all four of their games, that was friggin' awesome, man!
I was sad when the Ducks lost in 2003, but was glad that they finally won in 2007!
All that being said, I live in Toronto, so I'm very happy to have him here now :).
I was at the game earlier tonight and liked what I saw, keep it up, Giggy! You the man, not Hiller!
i'm not a big fan of jiggy he's not as good as he was before but i think he can fit in good with them the calgary trade on the other hand sucked whites better and stajan and hagman not really mayers though
would you have traded a MAJOR player with his talent for what they got in return they did not even get a first line player in return they dont need more 2nd and 3rd line players they need a playmaking first liner for iginla
That's not the point of a trade. In some trades, you don't need to get a star player for another star player although in some cases, it happens. But that's the GM's decision. On paper, it looks like Toronto ran away with that trade but we'll see how the new guys for Calgary pans out.
I respect your opinion but I disagree with you. I felt that a lot of the games that Jiggy played were on the end of back-to-backs and that's when the team gets tired. I mean, Jiggy would stand on his head but the "team" in front of him will lose it for him and given Carlyle's stupid "win-and-you're-in" policy on the goalies, Jiggy never got the second look. He's only played consecutive games once this season.
Nothing against Hiller but I feel that he won the no. 1 job unfairly because he was given every opportunity to turn his game around when it was the exact opposite for Jiggy.
Of course Carlyle and Murray had a hard on for Hiller all season long. Giguere plays a awesome game in a loss and gets sit the next game. Hiller loses and gets another chance because some how he played amazing in a loss. FU Bob Murray and Randy Carlyle. Long live JS Giguere.
this goalie is by far the best in my book

Yes, Giguere is a very nice guy, though quite shy. This is why Bryzgalov and now Hiller could become more popular, especially Bryz.

This is a tribute to him. If you don't like him, then don't comment.
Roochfan20 2 years ago
Answer me this: If he sucked so much, how would he have won the Conn Smythe in 2003? How would he have been kept in Anaheim for 9 full years?
Obviously he's done something right. So, your claim about him sucking is irrelevant to say the least.
