@sahseeker It's NOT canned laughter. Armando Ianucci complained that everyone thinks it is! I went to a BBC studio recording of parts of the second series. Before the scenes were filmed, a studio manager asked the audience to laugh and really enjoy it; for the scenes that had already been filmed, we watched those on large overhead monitors. All the laughter you hear is on the final edit is derived from these studio/audience sessions (P.S. Coogan as Partridge was the warm-up man!).
