He mentions that Tryon Palace was built in 1767. It was, but burned in 1798, the building which is there now is a reproduction.

We went to the Tryon Palace. We had a great time. Our daughter who lives in Havelock took us to New Bern for the tour.We are from the West Coast of Wisconsin,Next to the Mighty Mississippi River. It's amazing of the History in New Bern.I'm sure we'll be back.Love your City! Russ & Diane from Stoddard,WI.............
