I did home hemodialysis with the nxstage system for 4 years. I was actually one of first patient who got this machine and into the program of daily treatments. Thanks to south valley dialysis center in Encino California. Before that time I used a fresenius and then a Altin machine. A total of 15 years of kidney replacement treatments. I have to say, using the nxstage made all the difference. It is the best idea ever invented for that kind of therapy. Ilovenxstage.
I am in my first year of HD and have been fingting for home HD with my center. Unfortunately, they are pushing me to use their products and shooting down options outside of their network. I am severely disappointed since I thought the patient was supposed to come first. Well, I think the NxStage is a great fit into my life and it will let me do the things I want to do to make my life more normal. Thank you for providing this information! I knew there had to be something better!

I'm on my 3rd type of machine. First was a Fresenius D, a machine just like in the units. Next was the Aksys, a great machine that didn't make it financially. Now I'm on NxStage, the best so far. This is the first one that's actually portable. Home is Definitely Better!
