2jzge can Handle over 500rwhp. Keep in mind the internals are forged just like the 2jzgte motor. The 2jzge just lacks lower comp pistons, 550cc injectors, and oil squirters. If you put gte pistons in a ge block, upgrade the injectors you can get 500rwhp with the right tune, and turbo setup. Now Ive seen the rods from an IS300, and they r not forged, and considerable thinner. I believe this was done for newer versions of the 2jzge motors with vvti I guess to cut cost
@jamaicanlovrboy The thinner rods were to decrease the weight of the rotating assembly. It was to increase engine efficiency, because Toyota knew very well that the original rods were far over-built for the application.
how can a 2JZ-GE have boost? its got no turbo? and no it wouldnt take 500HP-700HP on stock internals....IT'll take the HP but not with stock internals..
Lol, yes a 2jz-ge has no turbo, but you can put one on making it na-t. 2jz's can handle that much horsepower on stock internals, thats why there such legendary motors.
without changing the pistons, you won't be able to boost that much before knocking starts, so don't think u'll get 500hp with stock internals, not on pump gas ne ways maybe with some kinda racing fuel.
Well the 2jzge was never offered with a 6-speed transmission.. The w58 tranny(5 speed transmission offered for the sc300) only handles about 400 or so.. The R154 is probably the best swap to handle the power.. i plan on going with a TH400 swap.. That way I don't have to worry about my transmission anymore! Plus I can run my trans brake safely then!!
Well lets see.. $4800 for a V160/161...$600 for an R154.. Thats why the R154 would be the better choice.. PLUS, rebuilding a v160/161is a shit ton more money.. So in the long run, if you can afford to buy/rebuild/maintain a v161 go for it.. but for me, to keep the price of the build down, i'll get an R154...
... we're not even talking about the car, ... talking about the 2JZ please read before you comment, and the 2JZ was never used much in pro racing ... and D1's not really racing.
umm still no, 2j'z are used in d1 all the time and yes it's not technically racing but it's still a motorsport. anyway gt500 supra used 2j's, basically every le man lexus and toyota in the 90's and early 2000's used 2j's, so yea they used it in racing....alot
theres like 1 supra in D1 and use to have a soarer, but like i said D1's not really racing so engines don't matter too much. Both the gt500 and le mans supra had a 2.1-2.2L 3SGTE for weight reduction. 2JZ's never raced in the 24hr Le Mans race, if it did please show me this proof? Toyota used 3.5L v8's and 4.0l v8 and 3.5L v10's (and the 2.1L i4 3sgte in the supra), and the gt500's used a 3SGTE in early supra's and a 4.3L v8 (3UZ-FE) in later ones same with current SC430's
i don't think a 2jz-ge will do 500-700whp with stock internals, the 2jz-gte will, the ge will need decompressing, different rods, also lacks oil squirter's so pistons may need changin.
GE's only lack oil squirters and different pistons. Change the headgasket and the pistons and you basically have a GTE block. You'll be surprised when you find out what blocks most tuning companies use.
Is the motor the 1jz or the 2jz? Sorry if i dont know but ima Rotor junky. lol. Im thinkin about gettin a SC 300 soon and i wanna know anything i can about them before i make the switch.
Sounds good! clean exhaust setup. So did you get new piping's? or did you just remove the mufflers and weld new piping from there... What kind of tip is that?
Its actually as quiet as it was before inside with the windows up once the engine is running warm...
It is probably too loud in your car because you haven't piped the exhaust out the rear rather than directly underneath like it is now just without the mufflers?
Are this just tips on some piping??

@emerica993 2.5" piping replaced what the axle-back muffler length would be

The 2jzge can/has and WILL handle 500+ rwhp.. The transmission of course, only handles between 325-350 safely..
This info brought to you from a current NA-T owner.. Stock crank/cams/pistons/rods/bearings and 100k+ miles.. Toyota's are bullet proof..
justinizme 2 years ago
I still don't believe your pulling 500+rwhp on stock internals.
you must be talking about a 5 speed gearbox, the 6speeds will handle 1000hp pretty easy stock.

the SZ-R 2jz-ge models came out with V161 6speeds, why would R154 be best swap when theres 6 speeds?

in illinois if its a 95 and lower there is no more emissions
