I am totally new to logic and logical fallacies... when you say "if there is an exception to the rule it's not really a rule is it" I would like to understand your meaning a little better. Baseball has the "infield fly rule" which is intended to meet the players need for safety. I am sure there is a problem with my reasoning and I hope you can help me out here. Interesting stuff man. Cheers.
> Lol, yeah. I see that is an overwhelming problem for the viewers. So in my next Friday Fallacy I'll repeat this one AND have a brand new fallacy.
Nice. Fallacies and rational thinking are extremely difficult topics for me to really technically grasp. There needs to be more videos on these things..
The Jews object to the holocaust. From simple humanity, I agree with that objection. The problem is that, according to the Babble, the Jews and JHVH are the worst war criminals humanity has ever had. No wonder the Jews object to the holocaust - they have intellectual property rights on genocide and hate it when others do what is in the Babble.
Hey Jordan. Thanks for the Friday fallacy. Love the background music choices you make, but it's just a little too foregroundish. When did the Theist step out of the realm of faith and into the realm of fact? I have no problem with Theism being a matter of faith; I just don't have any. Is this an attempt to gain "market share"? Not enough people out there willing to lead their lives by faith?
you should get into the habit of using "demonstrate" instead of "prove".
i hate this line of "you cant disprove god". if we get into the habit of using the word demonstrate, instead of prove, it gets people into the habit of thinking of things in terms of "reasonable doubt" instead of "absolute certainty".
Bashan whose king was Og. Must I refute this? By the way drix, did you get a chance to thoroughly read my highly controversial ;) and lengthy reply back to you on 'the problem of evil' topic?? :)) I also sent you a follow up with a few verses from scripture.
Though I am a bit confused about the burden of proof. I thought that it was whoever started the debate/argument is the one that is supposed to have the burden of proof. So, basically, if the atheist in your description came up to the christian and said "God doesn't exist" then the burden of proof would be on the atheist.
If it's not, then I've been horribly mistaken for quite a while.
"I thought that it was whoever started the debate/argument is the one that is supposed to have the burden of proof."
Technically its whoever has the positive claim that has the burden of proof
If an atheist said "god doesn't exist" and you disagree, you would adopt the position that it does and therefore would need to present evidence for it
If no evidence is satisfactory the debate is lost whether or not a god exists

Jordan, in reference to this video, see my latest one 'Are you more moral than your god?' I think it touches on a lot of what you mentioned.

good video, but the music is too loud. at least for us non-native speakers it's a little hard to understand. especially during the second half.

ya the music was a bit loud, it needs to be more of a background sound. try to bring it down some in future vids.

The music is to loud, its distracting. Good video otherwise.

You can do an audioswap to fix the music issue.

An audioswap would erase his talking, along with the music.
