I owned a 300z, now I own a 5th gen prelude. They are both excellent when it comes to handling. The lude has a better naturally aspirated engine. The 60 time is lower (6.7 and 7.6 , for the stick and automatic respectively).

@kc550 I'd like to say that was the 200hp Prelude, because those twin turbos on the Z didn't show much. But considering it was red trim, that Prelude was 160 like you said........which made that twin turbo look even slower.
200hp prelude? This is new to me......you know that the "200hp pelude" is 200 CRANK horsepower right? Hence the reason why it's probably only putting down around 160 WHEEL horsepower. Either way, these are both very slow cars and I could care less.

@keithLD50 mostly (at least up here) Z cars are more uncommon save older 240s and 280s and almost all of those are stock or rusted out so when people go out to play and see one they want to know what they can do. I see more ricer mentality from WRX, camaro, corvette, and mustang owners than anything.

The 6th gen civic didn't come with any impressive drivetrains, I think you may have your civic generations confused. a 300zx n/a is a fun car to drive, looks great, handles well, however its not as quick as a vtec model 4th gen or 5th gen prelude with equal drivers. I agree, a 300zx has a much more useable powerband, however with equal drivers a prelude is quicker
prelude and 300z are on totally different levels, i always wanted a z but I love my lude. and we're comparing a 2.2 or 2.3L non turbo to a 6 cyl 3L bi-turbo. unless prelude has JUN h22a almost impossible for it to win.

Isuzu has good engines...because they use the same as my Accord for some of their vehicles. Their bodies are a different story!

@bimbim007 except the threshold in which you understeer is drastically different in a RWD car. when you ask a FWD car to accel and turn with the same wheels you exceed the grip limit much sooner than with a RWD car. where you are only asking the front tires to turn.
also with a RWD car the push from the rear decreases the tendency to understeer allowing you to push harder without the front wanting to wash out.
now on the other side of that is oversteer (read drift)

@bimbim007 exactly stock looking exterior with just some minor mods just "sleeper mods" and a RWD conversion its would be slick car. i just cant get into FWD, it tasks the front wheels too much over heats them and you get oversteer way too early.

@Arnie69ful its still not going to happen. displacement and engine configuration are going to win. the V-6 is going to allow more TQ and the 3.0 is significantly larger. in stock form without changing compression and just increasing boost 300zxTT are 400RWHP (500hp to the crank)on pump gas (14psi) almost no lag. and the power band that sits at 400RWHP for 3-4k RPM vs a fairly built H22 will hit 400 for maybe 500RPM then have to shift. but now your talking a fairly built H22 vs stock-ish 300zx

si me and my friend were talking and he said that for racing he thinks that driving a stickshift would be worse cause you have to shift and itll slow you down . I drive a stick and idk what to say to that.

@CalikingZX I bought a 93 300zx from a guy for 1300 xD It has a GReddy exhaust, intake, and custom car PC Computer with twin alpine amps. Thats not my DD tho, just a BS car. My DD is way quicker than that thing xD

@bimbim007 except the threshold in which you understeer is drastically different in a RWD car. when you ask a FWD car to accel and turn with the same wheels you exceed the grip limit much sooner than with a RWD car. where you are only asking the front tires to turn.
also with a RWD car the push from the rear decreases the tendency to understeer allowing you to push harder without the front wanting to wash out.
now on the other side of that is oversteer (read drift)

@rpappi well if you have 5k to spend on the conversion i like to keep the outside of cars stock and maybe suspension and aftermarket rims thats it but other than that everything else stock

@bimbim007 exactly stock looking exterior with just some minor mods just "sleeper mods" and a RWD conversion its would be slick car. i just cant get into FWD, it tasks the front wheels too much over heats them and you get oversteer way too early.

@rpappii love sleepers... to be honest over modding cars cosmetically is just ugly. minor mods like stock spoiler headlights tailights rims and exhaust and rest is on the engine and you have a perfect car.. well maybe invest a bit on paint. i have a friend who has a prelude and we take it up a mountain and down funnest little car to go around corners. and everything is stock except he put a new intake

What confuses me is that you seem to find it unfair that the 300zx is the faster car? Or are you somehow mad that the two raced and decided to film it?

I don't find it unfair that the 300zx is faster, because it obviously is the superior car here. I have no anger towards anyone here either. @Arnie69ful its still not going to happen. displacement and engine configuration are going to win. the V-6 is going to allow more TQ and the 3.0 is significantly larger. in stock form without changing compression and just increasing boost 300zxTT are 400RWHP (500hp to the crank)on pump gas (14psi) almost no lag. and the power band that sits at 400RWHP for 3-4k RPM vs a fairly built H22 will hit 400 for maybe 500RPM then have to shift. but now your talking a fairly built H22 vs stock-ish 300zx
