@atheistdawn Self Righteous? Please don't take this the wrong way but IMHO the clip and the song weren't really meant to be taken seriously... Morrissey has a great sense of humour and he's never been afraid to make fun of himself and his Aura. Seems to me he was deliberately verging on self-parody here and gently poking fun at his adorers too... Back in the 80s, as a teenage Smiths fan, I met a lot of those pale, moody , half-rebel, half-desperate young ladies in high school...
