while treding water are u guys wearing flippers? ill hopefully be in the pj program in a year and i need to know if i should practice with flippers or without
To all you people that think Pararescue training is over at indoc, think again. The paramedic training that you have to go through is twice as hard as this. I believe the NREMT exam pass rate of the Paramedic portion is somewhere in the 60 - 70%. Now, it takes 2 years to become a paramedic at a college. In the pipeline, you do it in 6 months. Now, for all you kids that think you can run like the wind and swim like fish but aren't very intelligent, you may want to reconsider a different field.
@MoneyBiscuits If you can make it through INDOC, you can do anything. You learn to never quit. And if you want it hard enough you can do it. Not that you would understand that because you obviously haven't been there. just go check on your car sound system or make a few more videos of panes taking off...
when you show me your NREMT card that you completed in six months or show me you're a pararescueman, I will shut my mouth and bow down. I would know about Paramedic school because I was in it. But hey, what do I know
pj indoc is when they complete the prescuba phase unlike ccts which do that during the pipeline. most of them are very comfortable in the water and able swimmers before they begin indoc but unfortunately bmt is a waste of time and a lot of people fall out of shape and dont have much time to train between bmt and indoc which is why there are so many washouts in the beginning. but indoc isnt the time to get in shape you gotta be prepared and confident in the water beforehand.
Not much has changed since I left Medina. I was there in 96 when they built the new building. I was wondering if the pool was the one that use to have the dome on it. It sucked on some mornings due to a thick fog that would form inside. Think it was called the Shapperell. They were planning to build a new pool on Medina at the time.
Motivation!! I'm going for Combat Control and training hard man. This is just more motivation even if they're pararescue. It's still hard training physically and mentally.
@bbenally88 same here man, i would go next year but cause im homeschooled i have to do a semester of college first unless i can get like a 95 on my ASVAB lol.
you know that feeling when you watch something thats crazy motivating or that means a lot and after you can't say anything? Well that's were I'm at. Im in college training to reach my dreams of become a CRO. This just motivated me a whole lot more.
@PumaRacing88 what have you been doing for water training? im not the strongest swimmer and i am not sure how to go about training for indoc. i have at least till this summer to train. is that enough time?
You can look in my vids for a brief mask/ snorkel recovery. Basically we try to do everything they do at indoc, and attempt to make it harder (use BDUs/ booties/ weights etc, for various things). Make sure you can pass the PAST with excellent numbers. Really, the best advice I seem to come by, is to look at the graduation standards (special tactics dot com) and do your best to try to reach those BEFORE shipping off to BMT. Get in the water as MUCH as you can, get very used to it.
ive been trying to get into the pj carrer field for awhile now ... does anyone kno if there are any color vision waivers... im already enlisted in the AF...im just very minorly color deficient ... any help ?
@charm327 i have the same problem!! is it the class 3 flight physicall that your worrying about? cause im right on the edge for color deficient....but i have trouble passing the test with all the dots on the plate, i forget the name cause its really long. I've been researching for the last year on this color vision thing....the only definite i've got is no way your getting a waiver for that....other than that everyone just says don't take no for an answer....have you already tested?
i got about 4 years till this considering im only 14. my question is what does set back meen does that meen your like done or you just gota re try that part
Getting set back *means* that an individual is not allowed to graduate with the rest of his team and is "set back" to the next team. If you're set back before you complete ETD you have to restart the entire course; if afterwards you join the next team after they have completed their ETD. Getting set back typically happens due to injury, but if you fail an evaluation and show great heart and perform well on everything else you may be granted a set back.
@afpj09 does indoc only have the extended training day? or do they also have "extended training week" like a parrallel course to hell week in BUD/S? just wondering cause i've heard that they have their own "hell week" as another big speed bump in the course but all I hear about is ETD
@ownage1894 my freinds dad was a pj and he said they had it every week on a certain day or something, but that was back in the 80's and i hope they still have it when i go through indoc.
Howdy! That was a most inspirational video...I 100% enjoyed viewing it. I am 24yrs old and am switching career fields, I took my EMT-Basic and would like to do Pararescue...I recently went from 235lbs 5'10" to 155lbs and am working on my cals, runing and swimming...do you have any recomendations to help physically/mentally train? Thanks again for this awesome video post!
@Truth904 Hey thanks! I checked out some of the crossfit.com stuff...it looks awesome! I'm saving up to get some of the stuff and to possibly get into a gym that offers some of the training sessions. Peace!
@moneybiscuits-
The pass rate of the NREMT-P course is higher than 90%. I would know, because I graduated it, and I'm a PJ. Email if you have questions.
