Maybe i should check this out, Edgar RIce Burroughs seems interesting if he created his own Lost World. I don't think it is easy for modern writers to do that.
Saw this at the Drive-in and have been a Doug McClure fan ever since. Amazing that the entire budget for this film was 750,000 dollars! All these John Dark/Kevin Conner films have a special place in my heart!
I loved this film when I was younger, and even though the puppets weren't the best special effects ever - I was never, EVER convinced by those Pterodactyls - it was still pretty awe-inspiring. The scenery and the SFX helped too.
"Awful" is pretty unfair. They had a decent cast and script, alot of cash was spent on the movie as well. Watch the scenes where the U-Boats torpedo the ships. Those were new scenes shot for the movie, not stock footage and look pretty good. As for the dinosaurs, they were top of the line in animatronics during that time frame. The only options open were either full scale animatronics and puppets, stop motion or men in suits.
good trailer reminds me of the scifi classic planet of dinosaurs seen that movie 4 times on youtube and it came out in 1978 with impressive stop motion animation!
I agree. It's time to remake this classic film with some cutting edge CGI and Jurassic Park animatronics. If they do remake it, hopefully they'll stick to the original storyline.
I saw this when I was a child, too. It may have been the first film that scared me. Good movie, but it's time for a remake due to the unimpressive special effects. They'd better hurry.
Whatup only257! Don't you perhaps mean The Land of the Lost? That was a TV show. I remember watching that, too. A father and his two children. I've seen the trailer and yep, it does look...interesting :). I may catch it. :)!
scifi classic, so much fun to watch!

I remember the scene on the submarine, where the icicles are wobbling in the breeze. One of quite a number of goofs in the film.

Hi I'm Do,, Troy McClure.
You might remember me from such movies as this one.
Even when I was a kid we knew these movies were bad.
The effects sucked as did the stories, but we still loved them anyway.
We used a mental tool seldom used today called imagination.

Nope, he means "The Land that Time Forgot". Looks like the Asylum put it out direct to video, probably to cash in on "The Land of the Lost".
