People do care about the Marlins. I could do without the fair weather fans, but there are truly loyal fans out there. I've been a fan since 1993 but due to where my family lived and then joining the Navy, I haven't been able to attend many games. And the attendance jokes are a decade old. Can we get something original?
What can i say? As a die hard Cleveland fan this is as bad as it gets. The city has zero championships since '64 and we were only two outs away. It still makes me sad because that '97 Indians squad had so much heart and grit they deserved to win, unlike the bought and paid championship for the Marlins.

I'm an Indians fan, born in 1995 I vaguely remember this world series, and can't remember the 1995 series. In 2007 we were up 3-1 against the red sox, and blew it. Cleveland is the new Boston of baseball.

Man, I remember being a kid and my dad picking me up early to go watch the marlins play. Tickets were so cheap, we literally went to about 30 games a year. In 97 my dad somehow got free tickets to that game 7 and I remember right before renteria got up to bat, on my dads shoulders, I knew we were going to win. With my fingers crossed, at 7 years old, renteria hit a single and I watched counsel jump on home plate. That whole crowd went nuts and so did me and my dad. Greatest moment of my life.

It holds 70,000 people; Basically you can have a great crowd of 30,000 and that'll still be less than haf the capacity. And with the average crowd number being somewhere in the teens that stadium has no chance of looking full.

As a Braves fan I was especially happy with this outcome. Yeah, Florida beat us in the NLCS, but I was happy for Jim Leyland after what happened to him in 90, 91 and, 92 with Pittsburg.
I loved how the Marlins tried so hard to repeat as champions in 1998. Hell of an effort. One of the most forgotten teams to ever win it. That team represented everything that is WRONG about professional sports.
That was a shame, I loathed the 1997 Marlins team. However I really liked their 2003 team due to it being built by trades and farm system instead of being bought with free agents.
Even though I'm a Brave fan, I definitely have to give credit to the '97 Marlins, b/c they played with passion, heart and intelligence. They beat my team in the NLCS and I admit I hated it (since I was 8 at the time), but now I have to give them credit. I want to see the Marlins be at the top for a long time coming.

Speaking of strike zones, the umpires' strike zone expanded in the 95 World Series for Maddux and Glavine. They gave them 4-6 inches off the plate. That may have helped them beat the Indians with all those 1 run games.

I'm an Indians fan, born in 1995 I vaguely remember this world series, and can't remember the 1995 series. In 2007 we were up 3-1 against the red sox, and blew it. Cleveland is the new Boston of baseball.

Thanks for posting this. I'm a crazy Indians fan and yes it still really, really hurts. But it's nice to see that there were at least a few very passionate Marlins fans. I've never really respected their fanbase, but this film is wonderful. It's nice that they could do it at home. Maybe that was the thing for my Indians. Maybe it wasn't meant to happen because they've got to do it home. I hope this is the year they do it. Go Tribe! But congrats on getting this one, Marlins fans. See you in Oct?

Man, I remember being a kid and my dad picking me up early to go watch the marlins play. Tickets were so cheap, we literally went to about 30 games a year. In 97 my dad somehow got free tickets to that game 7 and I remember right before renteria got up to bat, on my dads shoulders, I knew we were going to win. With my fingers crossed, at 7 years old, renteria hit a single and I watched counsel jump on home plate. That whole crowd went nuts and so did me and my dad. Greatest moment of my life.

@Ashburnalley5 Granted not many people go to the game, but you also have to keep in account that the stadium is bigger than most ballsparks. It holds 70,000 people; Basically you can have a great crowd of 30,000 and that'll still be less than haf the capacity. And with the average crowd number being somewhere in the teens that stadium has no chance of looking full.

They beat my team in the NLCS and I admit I hated it (since I was 8 at the time), but now I have to give them credit. I want to see the Marlins be at the top for a long time coming.
