Visual noise, blah, blah, blah, IBM buys people and locks them away in museums (now virtual museums) making sure they don't benefit anything except maybe Big Blues bottom line.
then don't wait ;-) there are plenty of books and papers you can read, and you can always get your feet wet by contributing to an open source project.
thanks for your comment. I have started! And sweet idea, I most certainly will contribute to an open source project. I need to study a bit more though :)
Thanks for this video, Grady! Not only is knowledge growing exponentially, but the rate of growth is accelerating exponentially as well. The demand for scientists and engineers will grow steadily to push that horizon and they will be the rock stars of the next generation. What an exciting time to be alive!
Enjoyed the video - content and delivery method. It helps me see where we've been and that we're still going strong with innovation ... I plan to share this with some students we mentor at the University of KY. Thanks for sharing this great story.
Good thinking and excellent example of your creativity. We need people like you in all walks of our lives. Maybe one day people like you will find a way to end the suffering of the people who have no health insurance or ones that can not afford health insurance. Good software can shave millions and provide a way to empower consumers instead of being victimized by extreme greed of select companies that thrive on sick and the poor. Some thing new or innovative idea will change that one day.
this video about engineering is very educational.... =)

irks me too ;-) we had a pilot error in filming the SL clips, wherein we forgot to set the option to record the client-side facial animations.
