Hey Craig big fan here, but tried brewing this exact same honey recipe, was very disapointed.Have tried other recipes you have done and have been impressed.I found the honey brew was kinda flat, hardly any head, and somewhat cidery almost too sweet. Then again its been bottled for only 2 weeks, think it might get better with age?
The greatest Trolling in the history of mankind would be to show a video of this guy drinking beer in third world countries where water is scarce. :) I've never seen a man enjoy a beverage so much in my life. :D

Just an interesting thought and a question. You say one can use two cans of malt extract in one batch. What if you use two DIFFERENT cans..? Should be a very interesting, even unique result I think! If you find this attracting, please make a video of you making a brew this way. Would love to see it! =) Cheers and beers!

@CraigTube Love your videos!!! Best homebrew videos I've found! *Ive got the same coopers kit you have - cant rave about it any more its a fantastic little kit!!!
Craig Your the best ive seen all your videos your the reason i started brewing now o love it so much. I find the coopers lager is the best to experiment with.
doesnt do any good to listen to the haters that criticize how u like ur beer do it however YOU like it and piss on anybody that talks shit btw nice videos its making me think about brewing some and see if i like it
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy your videos. I'm just curious. I don't mean to offend.
Just glad I listened to my local brew store guy who advised me to add only 300g of honey and taste it before I added a kilo. Turns out I didn't need that much!
This is a great summer drink for the hot Australian climate. I always make sure I have a supply of it. It's the house beer!
I'm interested in that honey lager. I made a honey blonde with about 200 grams of honey and 2 cups of brew enhancer 2. It is AWESOME and the honey flavor increases weekly. It's not over powering. Just a subtle hint at the 3 week bottled mark. I'd call it perfect.
So it intrigues me that you added 1kg of honey. To me that seems WAY too much. The honey would be intense. How was it after a 3-4 weeks? Was it drinkable? It didn't get half the review you gave the stout. You didn't even finish it on
Nice video - I love the honey experiment! One tip for stout kits that will make a MASSIVE difference:
1. Substitute the sugar that needs to be added for 50% Black Treacle & 50% Extra Dark Spray Malt.
2. Add A LITTLE fresh liquorice to the FV when you add your hot liquids and remove after 24 hours (tie it with cotton if you need to) Alternatively, use a few grams (7g) of liquorice powder at this point.
3. Condition with 70g Extra Dark Spray and 30g of maple syrup.
Ive been watching all your videos craig.awesome job at making beer. And i find them very helpful.Im going tomorrow to buy some beer equipment and follow your technique.thanks again for sharing your knowledge and keep up with the great videos. (CHEERS)
@jekyllnhyde360 When beer ferments, it creates carbon dioxide. During bottling, we add a small amount of sugar to the bottles. When the beer is added, it ferments the sugar and creates CO2 which is trapped in the sealed bottle, thus carbonating the beer.
@CraigTube & @jekyllnhyde360 We brewed a Sparkling Ale. When bottling it after a week, I accidentally put in 6 Coopers carbonation drops instead of 3, in one of the bottles. (These drops looks like candies, they make it easy to measure how much sugar to put in the bottles.) I put 3 carbonation drops/candies in each 750ml bottle. But accidentally I put double dose in 1 bottle... I capped all the bottles. The day after, the bottle with too much sugar "exploded" and made a mess. The others are ok.
Craig- Cool video's, I've been wanting to home brew for a couple years, but thought it too be more complicated than you have shown it to be. Can you recomend a starter kit and where I could purchase? I live in the stick's, so somewhere on line.
craig, ya i luv wheat beers, especially if you ever get to munich germany....wheat beer is my favortie beer as well as cloudy beers......i want to specialize in wll wheat beers, im just itiching to do some ll grain wheats.....im going to order a coopers wheat kit tonite..... and im also going to try to do a irish stout using local ingerdients here in ireland..ill keep ya posted...slainte
craig, have you brewed a weiss beer yet..im into german weiss beers and i see that coopers has wheat beer kit.....im going to get a coopers kit next payday.....and i want to get into the wheat beer side of it..any suggestions? thanx luv the vids
Hey nice vids thanks for the info just started brewing my own for the frist time hopefully it turns out ok :) p.s ya save a shit load of money tooo hahahaha.
i just have one little question, can you keep the beer in a barrel( properally seal) and kinda keep it one tap sorta? just to skip the bottling? like if i can would i have to pour it into a new barrel or something and add the extra sugar to add the gas and extra alcohol to the beer?
what's your thoughts on beers like Guinness, Murphy's Irish stout, newcastle brown ale...... and what do you think about lager you get from supermarkets like; stella artois, fosters, krounberg 1664 etc
Hello im from Sweden and a stout lover for sure. I went to the store today and saw the Coopers home brewery kits. And i bought the stout kit. Its something that ive always wanted to do. I wanted to try it, even though it got a bad reputation. And when i came home i instantly ordered the coopers micro brewkit. With just that: Irish stout brewmasters collection. My favorite beer is actually coopers extra stout. So i hope it taste similar. I just wrote to thank you for ur vids gave me heroic hope!
Buddy, I love your videos, you got me onto homebrewing about a year ago---thank-you so much!!!! We have a farm in southern Saskatchewan, and lately i have been making an awesome cider, using the apples from our garden, blackberrys, and cherries, got the Alcohol by vol to 10%, its great thanks man!!!!
hey Craig, my dad is a massive Guinness drinker and i was wondering how the coppers Irish stout would hold up to it? and great video like always, thanks, Alan.
Great job Craig. Nice to see you found some of the Australian Coopers in your end of the world. The lager Coopers i saw you using is the bottom end here and the Coopers Stout is the Premium stuff. As you said you omitted the malt and still came out ok. Those premium ones are a bit more mobney but the tin has hops and better malts etc in them to begin with. I spent 3 yrs in USA and now back in Oz and making Coopers IPA. Try it if you like IPA. Premium black tin like your Irish Stout. Its great.
hi craig , just wondering , how do you wash your glasses if you dont use dish soap ?? and if you already have done what do you use to wash of the enzyme you talk about, i seem to recall you mentioning salt in one of your videos. have noticed my 2 brews so far have lost their heads quickly and one its carbonation, but it was only a week and a half bottle conditioned. cheers Matt
@rockr01 There is much debate in this, even amongst pro brewers. I usually just rinse my glass out after I'm done. What I would do is try your dish soap, and rinse. Then clean it with salt. See how that works. Also, put the glass in the freezer while it's still wet for 20 minutes. I remember years ago, the dish soap we used would ruin my home brews. The one we use now seems fine, as long as I use the salt. Cheers!
@rockr01 I wash my glasses/jugs with water after each use usually. If they need clean after a session you can use a small amount of your sanitizer in water. I always keep my glasses and jugs in the fridge. Keep them chilled helps alot.
Hey Craig I've been watching your videos for a while now and credit you with my success with this new amazing hobby of mine (my friends thank you as well). I know your busy but was wondering if you or anyone could suggest some good recipes or additions for me to use with the coopers Irish stout.
@sshukri0 I think if you're fallowing the instructions, you're getting the deep dark flavour of the stout. On it's own, it's got plenty of body and flavour. I wouldn't muddy it up with much else. I don't have any ideas off hand. If it was a lighter beer, hops, dry malt extract, steeping some grains come to mind.
hi Craig english viewer here, i recently took up home-brewing and i find your videos very useful, for my next lager iv been thinking about using honey thanks to you so i have a few questions, firstly what type of honey do use? does it have to be specific? how much honey? and lastly do i need to add some sugar still or is it fine with just the glucose from the honey? thanks and thanks for the videos!
@liamting I just used Clover honey. I think any type would be fine, but if it's not pasteurized, you should boil it for 10 min. When I did my brew, I just used the honey in addition to the other fermentables (dextrose or dry malt extract). I used about 750 ml, but just buy a large bottle of it and use that. It's not necessary that you use a certain amount. Just add it to your brew, maybe cut your dextrose a bit, but not much. Cheers!
Hi Craig, new viewer. I agree completely. Anyone who says you cannot make great beer with just the basic can is wrong. I have made the Irish Stout too and love it. My father from Europe loves my home made beer. Many Canadians don't because it has too much taste! They have no taste! I just started a new batch using honey after watching another of your videos. Hope it turns out as good as yours did. Great way to support local farmers' market selling honey. Cheers!
ive never had a stout and i really wanna try one. i think im gonna try a guinness. is there any other you would recomend? i hear murphys is also a good stout
Could not agree with you more. My first ever homebrew, is the Thomas Coopers' 'Brewmaster" Irish Stout. I did dose it with a little brown sugar. I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted it. It's been 6 weeks in the bottle and keeps getting better. I bought a Deschutes Brewery Black Butte Porter to compare. Honestly, I think the Coopers is better.
The kit brewing is great. It's only getting better. All grain has its place. But, there is nothing wrong with kit brewing.
Have you tried to brew the Coopers Pilsner? I'm attempting it now, but I'm second guessing my temp, and hoping some insight on your part might help me better understand what is actually happening. I started this seven days ago and I've maintained the temp 18-20 C. I know the lower temp will require more time for the primary fermentation to complete. It's not bubbling anymore (air lock), but it hasn't stabilized yet either. Hydrometer test this morning showed just shy of 1.00.
@450fox If you mean 1.000, as apposed to say 1.008 or something like that, then it's finished fermenting. When you say just shy of 1.00, do you mean 1.002? If so, it's done.
tommy from Ireland here, real stout is FANTASTIC, we call it Guinness.... love your vids. keep up the good work. would you try a 3 kg kit, muntons or brupaks....
I've brewed the Coopers lager that came with the microbrew kit, but I had to add ice to get the temp down which after melting was above my 5 gallon mark. I just got the brewmasters Irish Stout and I added the 500 grams of dry malt extract in addition to the corn sugar. I'm hoping this batch will be a success. The only issue I had was while I was pouring the dry malt extract it started getting clumpy. I'm not sure if the steam coming from the fermentor played a role. Your thoughts?
I enjoy your videos. I have been brewing, utilizing beer kits, over the past few years. I have met guys that grind their grains and have the "full blown" mega setup that I read about in magazines, but that's a bit too much for me. I like your simple approach with brewing, and I plan to try it. Everyone has an opinion about something, so don't worry about the occassional "critic." You obviously enjoy what you are doing and have some followers..... so enjoy it!!
@SpudGunzz All grain brewing IS NOT for everyone. Many people would never make beer it they had to do it that way. But some people can't get through their skull. Cheers, and thanks.
Hey Craig. Thanks for all the videos! Im currently brewing my first batch with the coopers micro kit because of your vid. Cant wait, I really hope it turns out good! Im Irish so I have high standards when it comes to my alcohol :-)
Thanks for your response Craig. I would like to add something to your video that has probably been addressed but I didn't go through all the comments to check on it. The amount of sugar DOES determine the amount of alcohol but there is a limit to how much the yeast can tolerate. some people might think they can dump in 12 pounds of sugar and get 30% alcohol (or whatever). I am no expert but I think Most wine yeasts can go up to about 12 to 15 % but there is a turbo yeast that might get 18%.
You're the man, Craig! You have inspired me to keep trying to make a decent beer. I made a good beer on my first attempt a few years ago and haven't made a good one since. I'm guessing it's getting contaminated somehow. Anyway, I was wondering if you've made a beer you didn't like. I've only been watching your vids for a short time but all of your taste tests have been positive, that I've seen. Good tip about the dish soap, never heard that before!
@uglybob6666 Thanks!.. I've made plenty of off beers over the years, probably due to contamination. I haven't made a bad one since I've started reviewing. If I make a beer and I think it's off for a reason other than the quality of the beer kit, I probably won't review it until I make another batch just to see if it's the same.
I totally agree with you craig malt extrats work great so does grain brewing to each their own. I watched your video of unpacking the coors kit and made me realize home brewing isn't as hard as it seems. It got me started brewing so thank you. I've also defended you in some youtube posts mostly those "takeadvice" douches. But i've gone through half your video series and its awesome you are like the Martha steward of youtube keep up the good work.
I don't know why or how but a home brewed stout are the best. I found that the stouts that I have made are the best stouts I've had. I am a all grain brewer and enjoy brewing that way. If you brew from a kit that's great because it's about brewing your own brew. Kits can make great beer and you seem to have your system down. proust !!
1) I think the ability to make your own wort is much more pleasing than using a pre-boiled wort from a can. You make your own recipe with hops, malt, etc. that you can't do from opening a can.
2) I don't know why Coopers calls it a Lager, they give you Ale yeast. Call it what it is!
that stout looks gooooooood ! youve inspired me to try home brewing im currently saving up for a coopers kit that you reviewed mainly because you get all the bits and pieces but in the meantime ive ordered an irlock and im gonna give the inmate brew a go ..cant wait
love your vids (all of them not just the home brewing ones)
If you go to my Easy Home Brewing - Irish Stout video, check he More Info section. I put a link where you can buy one, and if you buy it through that link, they give me a small cut. Thanks. It's a great site. I'll be posting tuns of links as soon as I round up all the stuff I want to sell.
Okay, so I'm not really a dark beer kinda guy. And Guiness is the only real dark beer I have ever tasted, which is totally disgusting in my opinion. Does the coopers stout taste alot like guiness? Thanks Craig, love your vids! keep 'em comin!
no guiness is like a burnt bitter taste and astout is like a dark choclate or coffee tenge its like guiness is cheap mexico soda compared to dr pepper if you buy a good stout
Since you didn't put the dry malt in I am wondering if you put more sugar in to compensate. What were to recommendations in the kit. ?g dextrose and 500g malt extract. I am wondering what you put in since you had no malt extract. I wanted to brew one but changed my mind since i had no malt extract.
@fuckiraq12 (why would you call yourself that?) , no, don't add vodka to your beer. Thats actually a terrible idea.
Beer yeasts have quite narrow alcohol tolerances, and start to get a bit sick after about 8-9% and doing things you don't want to your flavor. Notably it might also sabotage your carbonation. Ultimately theres a reason beers are brewed to 5% because thats an optimum for flavor, and yeah enough alcohol to make the party a little more fun. If you must, just add more sugar.
Hey craig, I'm gonna have to say that i agree completely. All the beer I've brewed so far is extract. Not from a can, but it's still 90% extract, and it's delicious.
I asked the homebrew store if it really is better to go all grain, and he said he cant taste a difference. The only advantage to brewing all grain is absolute control over the flavor. I'd never criticize anyone for wanting a simple good beer.
Hi Craig, maybe you've had this question before. What are your thoughts on trying different water. Obviously not buying water but maybe getting some from a brook or something like that compared to tap water. I would imagine you must filter and boil water coming from the outside. Maybe a big hassle just the same but have you tried different water?..Chris
Indeed... Your videos make the most sense as far as "Easy Home Brewing". I have watched them over and over and will continue until it's all burned in my brain. I am all about the easy way and I am glad I can learn from you...Dish soap, very interesting. I was in a bar years ago and I complained to the bar keep of a film in the glass. I said to her maybe you did not rinse the glass but now I know why. They was the glasses right in front of you in a 3 bay sink with normal dish soap...Chris
Hi there Craig I already brewed the Coopers lager here in the UK sticking to the instructions and was really impressed with the result so much so that I've drank it all, but I must try it with honey next time, Just watching your vid I've been out today and bought the stout kit & some malt can't wait to try it, NICE ONE BUDDY...
Not to worry after all....Final gravity 1.010 with nary a bubble in the airlock. Just bottled today, final "flat" tasting was just awesome. Can't wait for this puppy to be ready to drink.
Craig and all the lads doing the coopers stout.. Try Chocolate MAlt..It's a Darker malt.. You'll get an even smoother head and a smoother Taste.. Keep up the brewing vids Craig
Try a different yeast strain and diuble sanitize your bottles. My local brew on premise does 5 cases at a time. Craig makes great video and great beer. Dry hop and do a secondary.
Well I give up...this time I brewed a beer on site at the actual store.......It tastes so awful....simply put it tasted like wine or cider.....I agree with many that you cannot brew good beer with that canned crap
I don't believe it. It would be impossible for the beer to taste that bad if you did everything right. I wonder why my beer doesn't taste like that... Something's up here.
Well I brewed a beer at the store location it was called Brewers Spring Draft... a 7.5Litre bag of wort kind of like a wine kit....look it up.....Brewers Spring Draft.....anyhow the kit instructions were followed and now the beer has been in the bottles for a week and they are well carbonated..I just can't seem to get past the alcohol created from the corn sugar... maybe thats what is giving it that cidery flavor....
I love your immediate reaction to the Irish Stout just before you comment on it..ClASSIC CRAIG MOMENT! I can't believe therefore why you didnt deviate from your usual draft for all thos years. Great to see you are trying bitters and stouts now. Personally I find the bitters and stout kits much more like quality store bought stuff just as you said about the stout. Its right you cannot tell its a homebrew..
I was shocked by the taste and at the same time, angered at all the criticism I've received over the years about brewing only from kits. Right now I am brewing another one WITH the dry malt. I'm sure it will be a top notch beer by any standards.
Hay m8,, Don't forget I'll be trying the stout but with the addition of coopers light liquid malt extract, I'll let you know how it turns out.,, just did the coopers wheat beer with weat beer dry malt,, yummy!!
Hey Craig. Just plopped the Coopers Stout kit in the fermenter an hour ago (with the dry malt). OG is 1.049, so should be a potent brew when it's done. If the final product tastes anywheres near as good as my "flat Hydrometer" tasting, it should be incredible!!! Very complex taste.
Your vids are realy helpfull but i got a question,You always have a beer in your hand but never seem that intoxicated(or pissed as us australians say) why is that?
Because the videos where I'm pissed don't get posted LOL. No seriously, I do my videos during my first or second beer. There have been a couple of times when I did videos after three or four, and I scrapped them and redid them the next day during beer one and two. Would you like me to do a video when I pissed? hehe.
It's not that you can't brew decent beer from a kit, it's just that you can make excellent beer, with more control and make it taste exactly how you want it, by using more detailed methods. You don't have to gamble and guess if it's going to be good or not.
That's an excellent point which I agree with. What all grain brewers need to understand though, is that most people who want to make beer don't have the wherewithal to go through the all grain process. They just want to make beer easily, otherwise, they would never do it. A newbie is not going to jump in and do all grain. Most of my viewers are scared until they see how easy it can be. At least it gets them started and they may choose to continue kit brewing, or move up to more complex ways.
I agree. At some point, after investing a certain amount of time & money, some people may just ask themself, "why go through the trouble? why NOT go to the pub instead?". To me, extract will still be a better taste then the crap you get from stores or at the local watering hole.
I'm brewing a cooper's Irish stout using 500g of spraymalt and 300g of dextrose as recomended, but fermentation seems to have stopped after 3 days. Didn't take an OG (mistake) but FG is 1014. I'm assuming somethings wrong, I've tried rousing the yeast but that didn't help. The brew doesn't smell or taste infected. Any ideas?
I would just leave it for the rest of the week and test it again. At any rate, bottle it and see what you've got. Maybe the dry malt can't completely ferment for some reason. I don't know. It's pretty close to target anyway so it will be ok.

The others are ok.

i just have one little question, can you keep the beer in a barrel( properally seal) and kinda keep it one tap sorta? just to skip the bottling? like if i can would i have to pour it into a new barrel or something and add the extra sugar to add the gas and extra alcohol to the beer?

@Kanadienphatboy You probably should look into kegging. Get yourself set up with that and you'll never go back to bottles.

You can turn the coopers original stout out very good aswell.
Here is my recipe which turned out fantastic (only has a few bottles left )= . Everyone are free to try it out.
1 can of coopers original stout with the yeast that comes by.
1 KG of dextrose.
1 cup of honey.
The OG was somewhere around 1050+ The FG became 1004 which is my lowest as of yet.
As its a rather high % i thought i would taste the alcohol but nope.
Afterall its a perfect christmas beer =)
Enjoy

Hello im from Sweden and a stout lover for sure. I went to the store today and saw the Coopers home brewery kits. And i bought the stout kit. Its something that ive always wanted to do. I wanted to try it, even though it got a bad reputation. And when i came home i instantly ordered the coopers micro brewkit. With just that: Irish stout brewmasters collection. My favorite beer is actually coopers extra stout. So i hope it taste similar. I just wrote to thank you for ur vids gave me heroic hope!

Its great.

hi craig , just wondering , how do you wash your glasses if you dont use dish soap ?? and if you already have done what do you use to wash of the enzyme you talk about, i seem to recall you mentioning salt in one of your videos. have noticed my 2 brews so far have lost their heads quickly and one its carbonation, but it was only a week and a half bottle conditioned. cheers Matt
rockr01 1 year ago
@rockr01 There is much debate in this, even amongst pro brewers. I usually just rinse my glass out after I'm done. What I would do is try your dish soap, and rinse. Then clean it with salt. See how that works. Also, put the glass in the freezer while it's still wet for 20 minutes. I remember years ago, the dish soap we used would ruin my home brews. The one we use now seems fine, as long as I use the salt. Cheers!
CraigTube 1 year ago
@CraigTube craig can u use only 1 can off coppers hopped extract and make only 2 galls of beer thats the size of my brew bucket
cber8860 1 year ago
@rockr01 I wash my glasses/jugs with water after each use usually. If they need clean after a session you can use a small amount of your sanitizer in water. I always keep my glasses and jugs in the fridge. Keep them chilled helps alot.

Hey Craig I've been watching your videos for a while now and credit you with my success with this new amazing hobby of mine (my friends thank you as well). I know your busy but was wondering if you or anyone could suggest some good recipes or additions for me to use with the coopers Irish stout.
Thanks in advance

sshukri0 1 year ago
@sshukri0 I think if you're fallowing the instructions, you're getting the deep dark flavour of the stout. On it's own, it's got plenty of body and flavour. I wouldn't muddy it up with much else. I don't have any ideas off hand. If it was a lighter beer, hops, dry malt extract, steeping some grains come to mind.
CraigTube 1 year ago
hi Craig english viewer here, i recently took up home-brewing and i find your videos very useful, for my next lager iv been thinking about using honey thanks to you so i have a few questions, firstly what type of honey do use? does it have to be specific? how much honey? and lastly do i need to add some sugar still or is it fine with just the glucose from the honey? thanks and thanks for the videos!
liamting 1 year ago

Cheers!

But, there is nothing wrong with kit brewing.
faroutadventures 1 year ago
Have you tried to brew the Coopers Pilsner? I'm attempting it now, but I'm second guessing my temp, and hoping some insight on your part might help me better understand what is actually happening. I started this seven days ago and I've maintained the temp 18-20 C. I know the lower temp will require more time for the primary fermentation to complete. It's not bubbling anymore (air lock), but it hasn't stabilized yet either. Hydrometer test this morning showed just shy of 1.00.
450fox 1 year ago
@450fox If you mean 1.000, as apposed to say 1.008 or something like that, then it's finished fermenting. When you say just shy of 1.00, do you mean 1.002? If so, it's done.

Craig,
I enjoy your videos.

What did you say before you started drinking the first one?
HopsBrewing 1 year ago
Thanks for your response Craig. I would like to add something to your video that has probably been addressed but I didn't go through all the comments to check on it. The amount of sugar DOES determine the amount of alcohol but there is a limit to how much the yeast can tolerate. some people might think they can dump in 12 pounds of sugar and get 30% alcohol (or whatever). I am no expert but I think Most wine yeasts can go up to about 12 to 15 % but there is a turbo yeast that might get 18%.
uglybob6666 1 year ago
You're the man, Craig! You have inspired me to keep trying to make a decent beer. I made a good beer on my first attempt a few years ago and haven't made a good one since. I'm guessing it's getting contaminated somehow. Anyway, I was wondering if you've made a beer you didn't like. I've only been watching your vids for a short time but all of your taste tests have been positive, that I've seen. Good tip about the dish soap, never heard that before!
uglybob6666 1 year ago
@uglybob6666 Thanks!.. I've made plenty of off beers over the years, probably due to contamination. I haven't made a bad one since I've started reviewing. If I make a beer and I think it's off for a reason other than the quality of the beer kit, I probably won't review it until I make another batch just to see if it's the same.

I don't know why or how but a home brewed stout are the best. I found that the stouts that I have made are the best stouts I've had. I am a all grain brewer and enjoy brewing that way. If you brew from a kit that's great because it's about brewing your own brew. Kits can make great beer and you seem to have your system down. proust !!
MrZameekron 1 year ago
1) I think the ability to make your own wort is much more pleasing than using a pre-boiled wort from a can. You make your own recipe with hops, malt, etc. that you can't do from opening a can.
2) I don't know why Coopers calls it a Lager, they give you Ale yeast. Call it what it is!

fuckiraq12 2 years ago

CraigTube 2 years ago
@fuckiraq12 (why would you call yourself that?) , no, don't add vodka to your beer. Thats actually a terrible idea.
Beer yeasts have quite narrow alcohol tolerances, and start to get a bit sick after about 8-9% and doing things you don't want to your flavor. Notably it might also sabotage your carbonation. Ultimately theres a reason beers are brewed to 5% because thats an optimum for flavor, and yeah enough alcohol to make the party a little more fun. If you must, just add more sugar.
duckmonsterX 2 years ago

I just use tap water, with all of it's chlorine and fluoride poisons LOL. It's home brewing the easy way my friend.

Indeed... Your videos make the most sense as far as "Easy Home Brewing". I have watched them over and over and will continue until it's all burned in my brain.

Its right you cannot tell its a homebrew..
sbbinahee 2 years ago
I was shocked by the taste and at the same time, angered at all the criticism I've received over the years about brewing only from kits. Right now I am brewing another one WITH the dry malt. I'm sure it will be a top notch beer by any standards.

Hi Craig,

wallyshaw 2 years ago
Because the videos where I'm pissed don't get posted LOL. No seriously, I do my videos during my first or second beer. There have been a couple of times when I did videos after three or four, and I scrapped them and redid them the next day during beer one and two. Would you like me to do a video when I pissed? hehe.
CraigTube 2 years ago
It's not that you can't brew decent beer from a kit, it's just that you can make excellent beer, with more control and make it taste exactly how you want it, by using more detailed methods. You don't have to gamble and guess if it's going to be good or not.
chemicalcraig69 2 years ago
