Her weave looks awesome, but when you have natural you can not exercise and keep your hair straight at the same time. Also weaves are extremely costly. I believe that money should be towards something more benefical like a 401K.
I respect Damian. I assumed he supported natural african hair styles. Our hair is naturally curly and your colleague showed some really ignorant ideas about black peoples hair. Why are we praising the weave? WTF? I wouldn't want her in my hair thats for sure.
@BibsyP It's not about praising, it's about finding a style which suits you, if you like it, then rock it, but do it on a healthy level. Your hair is design to do wonders, but if you live by a stigma then who's the real victim.
@RedDreds504 I am definatly NOT a victim. Our hair is versitile, If it is hidden under some plastic or poor indian girls hair because 'we' believe 'nappy makes us unhappy' then that is an issue. Of course those that install weaves on peoples head will advocate that stuff. We can talk ourselves and our children into hating their own hair, not to mention all the other self hating doctrine we preach, but there will be a heavy price to be paid, on many levels.
Respect the comb! I'm gonna have to use that myself its funny but too true. Thanks for having the desire to educate us in how to care for our hair properly. So many people out there want to give us a how to for style purposes and they and the viewer forget that you need a strong fondation to support those styles and you need strong healthy hair for that. So again thank you for having the desire to educate us. Lord knows stylists like you are few and far between.
Im sooooo happy i had order me some of "the spray" and i got me some!!!! one more week and i will be getting my starter locs!!!! Thanks A Lot Damian!!!
Quick question on the topic of weaves: I was wondering why is it that some weaves look as if they are sitting on top of the person's head? I mean, it looks like you can actually stick your finger under it in the front. Could it be the way that the hair is braided?
This man is the Loc Guru. So many people need to see his vids. I'd really like to know whats in your spray though. Maybe you could make a vid on how to make it?
LOL, I'm natural & hate how some ppl walk around wearin it as a Trend & don't take care of it!! That's the reason some ppl are scared to do it bc of all the ppl doin the wrong stuff to their hair, smh. You're really funny though & wish you got that girl on tape, I take really Healthy care of my hair~
LOL- Hi Damien I can relate to how you felt about the broken combs because my hair broke one of her favorite combs back in the day while the beautician was combing the relaxer through my hair- ALL of a sudden the price went up! Lol - I love your videos!
Question: I've heard you say in a couple of your videos that using a mixture of oil and water and spraying it on the hair isn't a good way to moisturize (or condition). I trust your opinion because of the quality hair I've seen you working with. So, what kind of moisturizer (or conditioner) should I use to spray on my hair daily? Also, you've implied using a deep conditioner in a few of your videos. What exactly is a deep conditioner, what products do you recommend, and how do I use them?
@waringpriestfilms I know I've been asking a lot of questions that may seem basic to you, but I'm just trying to get my stuff right seeing as I don't have any experience with hair maintenance.
It's all about hair care and maintenance of the hair. You can rock a relaxer, natural, weave, color, or locs as long as you are mindful of what you need to do keep your hair healthy and looking good. The problem some naturals have with perms, weaves, and color is some believe it's what they "have" to do in order to be successful and be accepted. At the end of the day, we should support one another regardless of our decisions about how we choose to wear our hair.
front, middle, and back textures? you just described my head of hair to a tee.
