I just got back from East Africa (Kenya, mostly), and I saw tons of these balls. I asked a few kids if they had a preference between these and real balls, and most didn't.

But to you who wonder where he got a camera...hello, it's 2010. The world's a lot smaller place then it used to be. I guarantee you it's not his, but it's not as if no impoverished African child has ever seen a camera before. And to say they should have sold it, the video probably gets more balls than pawning the camera.
