  • Had one years ago. When they first hit the streets. Bad handling fitted a damper did 70mph in first gear. Cops followed me everyplace ended up being banned for speeding.

  • I'm picking one up for $900. Doesn't run for some reason but luckily I have a repair shop 1 mile away.

  • amazing after all the years these bikes still look superb , and sound great

  • Very nice my freind!I like the sound!I've never seen that 4-1 before!I've got a Z1B as well. Its a streetfighter version,1075,skimmed,ported,the lot(£6500 on the engine)one off wheels, and swimnging arm, slab yokes. And a harris 4-1 exhaust. It's not on the road yet,but its gonna be evil! Thanks for the post, its extremely nice to hear a zed running!I have'nt heard one since my 750turbo was on the road! You can't beat the sound of a straight four through a good 4-1!truly heaven sent!!!

  • trying to get a friends 73 z1 back up and running after 20 years. I keep sending him links to videos to get him going. I cant wait to get it fired up.... and we will put up spme video for sure

  • The imossibly beautiful kwaker 9.Oh...the seventies!

Love the lines on the tank and the rumble sounds almost civilised.

    Meant to be admired.

  • I had a Z1 B just like thia it was one of the best ever. It was rejetted, bill wergess

pipe, and koni shocks. It would out run any bike around here and it handled great too. I've had a bunch of bikes since but i still get a warm feeling when i see a Z

  • I rode a Z1B (1975) to both coasts from Minnesota....if not for a good helmet I would have died when I went off the road near Estes park Colorado.

I prefer the four into four look but that is a sweet machine.

  • The original colour, wine-red - perfect.

  • I had a 1976 kwak Z-900, Put a 4 N 2 -1 on it with a Dresda swing arm rear end , Giving it a slightly longer wheel base, , Had the engine Overhauled and tuned, and it went like Shit off a chrome shuffle,

the exceleration was Breath taking, would pull the skin off the fizzer, and what a Howl it had, the sound of a 30.000 Decibel Trumpet..! What a "ToooooL"

  • Horsepower Profiles. Com

    Brag A Little

  • Kawasaki got it so right with this machine, thumbs up to the dude who designed it.

tough lookin bike.Wish i still had my 75.

  • I don't think you want to go too fast on these old ladies, they don't handle too good!

Mind you, if I could find a nice original one, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

  • "hey don't handle too good!"

Trust me, the "power to shpincter" ratio is spot on ;)

Far more entertaining than any modern plastic nondescript, that's why all us Zed owners have hairy chests and big plumbs......even the women :oD

  • and drink newcastle brown whilst wearing sawn off levis happpy days

  • Sawn off ????

Are you one of the Krays ? ;o)

  • sawn levis means the arms of the denimn jacket are cut off so it is a waist coat fitting over your leather bike jacket. what's with the krays??

  • yea i agree i got an 82 kz550 ltd bitch is fast i think i got it too 45 mph in secound without over reving and it handles great at 165 mph not recomende though

  • Hi!

    I'm an italian girl owner of a Z750 (1983) completly original, owned before a Z650 and a Z500 (1980).

Luckely I don't have hair on my chest... But I understood what you meant... I AGREEEE!!!!!!!!!!

We have a gear more! (even if them are 5....)

  • WHAT'S THE TOP SPEED FOR THIS BKIE?

  • Hi had it up to 220kph.cheers graham

  • I did 135 mph

  • @KEGSTR123 Yeah, I had it up to 136 mph. Had a '73 Z1 identical color to this one but with a Kerker header. Was crossing Alligator Alley in South Florida back in '80. The last few mph's were slow getting (laying on the tank did the trick). Once there, the front wheel started to sway. Gingerly let off the power until it stabilized. Found out years later these early models had a weak head stem problem. Still would love to get same exact bike. You never forget your first love.
