  • ill race the impreza in my 106 id bet a lot of money id slay it!

  • gt T is faster than a vr6.

    gtt 0-100 kmph 6.2 vr6 7.8

  • strange video indeed.

sounded like a second gear take off.

but why did it take till the top end of 4th to pass the lil saxo ?

maybe the saxo got into 5th knew he wasnt going to get close to 155mph and backed off ?

  • @archie2archie that maybe true but a standard saxo vts and 106 gti will both do 140mph which isnt to bad out of a n/a 1.6 i can verify this seen as i used to own a vts and my mate a 106 gti and we where sat neck and neck at 140

  • @100zeeno

speedos are renowned for inacuracy.my old vts speedo showed 70mph when gps read 62mph.a vts cannot hit 140mph gearing ratios and rev limit prove this to be the case.127mph is book figure,134mph is theroretical max speed.engine/ecu/gearing tweeks can raise this of course.

but unless the tin can saxo has has full rollcage etc.you would be a fool to go anywhere near the speeds you talk of.

  • @archie2archie Saxo vts will hit 152 mph with standard gear ratios if you have the power...

  • @whitty2350 wouldnt matter if it had 600bhp it still wouldnt hit 152mph.gearbox AND standard rev limit would not permit this.

original poster pointed out, airbox and exhaust are the only mods.

if you had read my reply you would have understood my point.

theonly way it can do 152mph as you point out is to alter/change the ecu or gear ratios.

  • @whitty2350 could have 600bhp,but still wont do 152mph.

standard rev limit AND gear ratios will not allow.

change one or the other, then if it has the power 152mph is posible.

if you had of read my post you would have understood my point.

but as original poster pointed out airbox and exhaust are the only mods.

  • @whitty2350 ; thats impossible, I own a valver and its in the rev limiter around 225 kp/h

  • @100zeeno yeah it was kind of dodgy according to the speedo it was 140 but it wouldnt suprise me if what you are saying is true i heard the faster you go the further it is out and i couldnt agree more about the tin can remark you could bend the bonnet in your hands glad i didnt crash it i did crash a vvc metro tho with no roll cage at at 60 mph through a lampost and 2 gaurd rails and almost died ripped 3 wheels clean of windscreen was down the road passenger seat ended up on my lap.

  • haha, his face at the start...

  • lol u cant see the diference between horse power?i see all of you taling about weight...wtf saxo vs subaru?come to greece subaru boy and beat my saxo

  • the saxo sounds well modified, poss turbo'd listen carfully to the saxo engine note, that aint std, i been in a fair few, with pipes, dont sound like that

  • Saxo have just carbon airbox and inox exhaust !!

    But she's more light !!

  • beacouse my friend the guy with the subaru makes slow changes in gearbox....slow reaction

thats the reason that the vts move in front at the begining.

  • What happend at the begining? Why did the VTS move in front?

  • power 2 weight lol

  • might be that the saxo is lighter quicker acceleration? or the scooby was teasing or a shit driver

  • Lack of weight in the VTS, it's "nippy" the subaru is a heavy lass thus doesn't get the punch on the lighter cars till around 80mph

  • I agree the VTS is nippy, but its not in impreza league at any speed, whats the 30-70 in a GT? Same as WRX? probably about 5.5 secs, much quicker than a VTS

  • @XXdriver2000XX

Yes, but the 0-60 is just a result of it's all wheel drive running gear. Once rolling, the VTS will clearly pull in the lower gears or at least level peg until torque becomes the real issue. Given the subaru's forced induction, torque output is much greater than that of a naturally aspirated unit. Displacement also leaves the saxo at an immediate disadvantage. Although, going off subject slightly, given the saxo's weight and chassis, it makes for a great handling car

  • But thats why I said 30-70 not 0-60 so you can't use the 4x4 reason, really their is no situation where a VTS will pull on a WRX/GT, thats why I am puzzled by this video, perhaps one of the other commenters was right, probably wrong gear or something, or maybe the saxo is modified?

  • @XXdriver2000XX

Yes but even so 30-70, there is no lagg on gear change, there's no huge bulk to pull along, it's short gear ratio gets it moving swiftly at lower speeds. I think they are slightly under rated and I personally think subaru are over rated to a degree. Both good cars in their own right. I think a tight set of corners would see the VTS pull on the subaru, you must drive a small french hatch to appreciate it's refined handling characteristics

  • ptite VTS power!!!
