As a quadriplegic photographer I've been thinking about the need for an iPhone app with which I could control my Nikon D SLR for several years now. Now the only thing I won't be able to adjust myself will be the zooming in and out of the lenses. I am very excited about this new development!
Why he has problems with apps?! It's obvious that those are better than web interface - except that web interface is easier and cheaper to make for many devices. And You never lose your apps during iOS update!
@wahwahpedalmaster Um... No Canon doesn't. If you read for one freaking moment you would realize this is all completely wireless and already integrated.
Sure before you could do this with Nikon or Canon but not before installing utilities and having them setup in a studio with cables.
@wahwahpedalmaster Hi, with Nikon you can access your camera from anywhere in the world and Web interface is very easy you no need to install any fail software like EOS utility that interrupt Nikon software in same computer.
They better make versions of this for Android, Windows and Linux because like most people in the world I don't have anything Apple based and would never want anything Apple based
@JIMIXPHOTO its actually updated and improved.. the autofocus switch is now located on the same place the d7000's switch is also which is very convenient and i see all the future pro models to do the same.. you can switch from c-s-m and pick which points you want in a matter of seconds
@GacusanAMVs :) Just as soon as I posted my comment, I spotted the button in within the AF-M lever, and thought that it must be working the way it works in the D7000. I think it's a good improvement, because it's comfortable to use in the D7000. Thanks for the reply ;) Cheers.
@mistrall234 If it was steve jobs he would be claiming he invented the camera and trying to sue everyone else for copying "his idea" even though it was out before

The biggest flaw with the WT-5 is they priced it out of the range of feasibility for most of the user base. $500US. The same technologies and abilities from other vendors are a fraction of that price. Total rip-off. Nikon Fail.
@speedracer77 You're clearly clueless. Tell us who offers this functionality for a fraction of the price. This is an accessory for a $6000 camera and not some hobbyist toy.
@smakams $500 is a reasonable price point for those who want that functionality - really it is. You don't have to buy this device: the same things can be achieved by a (virtually free) cable for nothing (having bought the camera and software).
Guys... This is a pro tool, excellent functionality, limited production for a niche market and is priced accordingly.
You want cheap wireless transfer? Buy a D5100 and an EyeFi.
@cisys sales rep post.. surely someone this clueless wouldnt be browsing nikon d4 on youtube although you can be sent strange places when youtube browsing...
@hunktubes Yep, not only is it cheaper it's also a class apart from the Canon stuff. I agree with you about the price - it's a steal for tethering in the studio as well as macro work.
nikon: the d4 can shoot 11 frames per second at full resolution and you can control it via iPad/iPhone
audience: .......
canon: the 1dx lets you take 14 frames per second and has a revolutionary new af system
audience: .......
leica: we made a digital rangefinder following the traditional leica camera design. No af, shitty performance, 9000 dollars
audience: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

It's much easier to use the ATG AK1 Un-Tethered Systems then buying the Nikon WT.
ATG AK1 Un-Tethered Systems work on many Nikons as well as Canon,
It supports wirelessl live-view & wireless audio/video recording from pc.

Anyone complaining about the price of this bit of is clearly not used to buying high-end photo gear for use when their livelihood depends on it.
Price up a D4 and lenses covering, say, 14mm to 200mm at no more than f/2.8 and see if you still think $500 is a lot of money.
Have a load of money you want to get rid of? Become a professional photographer.

Whatever happened to the AF-C option on the body of the camera itself? And what about the AF points mode switch? I'm disappointed.
