all the haters are the reasons why we should nuke them to wipe out iraq and Afghanistan. only thing keeping us from doing so is oil. @bee123UYA I can recall a few videos of Marines in the middle of firefights "not looking like they know what they're doing" I don't judge them, they're over there doing their job. So before you go on your little rant, THINK! ... You weren't there, you don't know what's going on and chances are you would of shit yourself in the same situation. Youve obviously never been in the US army, were supressive fire is 10 times more important then actually killing the enemy with small arms fire.
The idea see is to keep them pinned down until artillery or air suppot comes in.
If you served in Vietnam like you said you did you would remember that, in the jungle, were you barely ever saw the enemy.
