The proof of the pudding is in the eating. How do we know that this video produced the desired effect? And how do we know how much of that was due to the video alone? I mean teenagers these days are brought up on violent movies and violent video games. Can what is shown on TV really shock them? I suppose there is no easy way of knowing. To me that is a problem.

It's not selfish. It's that it's become such a way of life that people, especially "immortal" teens, don't think it has any affect. Until it happens to them or someone they know, kids think they're invincible. I know I did. (And unfortunately, close calls never count.)

cell phones banned? how do you think cops communicate on high speed pursuits. through multi-tasking
if no cellphones then there should definitely not be any built in TV screens, no radio and no other interactive electronics that could take focus from driving.
if driving is so focus oriented there should be more strict qualifications. don't punish the talented people who can drink coffee, drive a stick, and talk on the phone zipping through traffic in a busy city cuz the others cant

If anything, they hold back - in an accident like this, the driver would be lucky not to have had her legs shattered below the knee.

I've sen people talking with their hands while on the cell and driving. Um, what's steering? And heaven forbid they drop the phone. Most people (who talk on their cell while driving) would just reach down and look for it, taking their eyes off the road "for just a couple seconds"

i am 14 years old, and i 100% agree that this should be shown in ALL schools around the country.
I opened my eyes and i know it will open alot of other people's eyes. It will make me nag ANY driver not to text - even my parents.
Although this IS dramatic and graphic it does need to be seen and shown for what it is.
In my eyes, that girl driver was selfish

I DON'T CARE how well you can multi-task - if you do not pay full attention while driving, you WILL have an accident.
And as I am a first responder, I can say that this is NOT too dramatic (in fact it is not dramatic enough).
Do not use a cell phone in any way while driving - damn things should be banned in a car.

Plus, people who think they are the exception (I can drive fine while doing...) are the 1st to be shocked when their actions cause an accident.
