He definitely knows how to play to please whatever crowd he's in. The Japanese love to clap with the beat of songs in unison. I've seen a lot of Japanese stuff that's the only reason I know that. If you watch the Final Fantasy orchestra live performances, (I'm a big geek I know lol) it's just like this in the audience. That's just how they do it and my boy Tony Royster Jr. played according to what they like in that country, but at the end he went crazy as usual.
He wanted the crowd to be more interactive with his solo, which is why he was limited to a different amount of fills in the beginning, though he did started to let it out towards the end.
very straight beat. sounds more like a typical drum solo rather than his usual style of drumming...great sound by the way. I`m sure the snare hit you right in the stumach live.
@callejontranquilo korean crowds are generally like that. for the most part they;re shy, atleast from what i've seen. they don't like to make too much of a scene by creating a lot of ruckus. don't know why. unless it's some world famous male actor, then all the girls go apeshit and even go as far as to cry, lol.
@callejontranquilo Unlike our country, (North America) some country's treat live performances with great respect and show their graditude by listening instead of shouting as loud as possible which shouting is fine of course, it's just these people clapped and made a few shouts but not enough to interrupt the performer.
@1234567jelly Are you serious about Tony being better than Buddy Rich? I 100% agree he is better than Travis Barker, but Buddy, that is blasphemous. You should hang your head in shame!!
@ThomasMetal75 there is not any drummer in the world who is better then Buddy Rich. and also no one will be better then Buddy. he made a history of jazz drum solo and not only..so be careful when you are talking about him..am not talking about you...
Great solo. He kept it audience friendly with clear down beats and a strong 2 and 4 for most of the song. Then at the end he let it rip. Too many solos are just about minute-long fast fills around the drumset. He keeps it real for a while, THEN opens it up. Awesome.
