  • is daughter replaced the bullets with blanks. Woop de too

  • I thought this scene was incredibly crap.

  • Elizabeth (the mother) is my name and my sister's name is Lara (the little girl). What a coincidence.

    Anyway, powerful scene!

  • one of, if not the most underrated movies of all time

  • This scene my GODD!!!

  • im crying and i cant stop. i love my daughter so much if his ever happened god for bid id die

  • This scene always gets me to tears.

  • this is the most emotional movie i ever seen. its on my second place after Shawshank redemption

  • If anyone thinks this movie is racist, that's because it is. It's about racism. But it makes me angry when people say that it tries to make whites look dominant. If anything, it makes whites look bad. The spoiled rich housewife, the jerk gun-shop owner, and the cop who sexually assaults someone. This movie doesn't favor any race, just straight up tells it like it is. People shouldn't be so sensitive about it, and just watch this great movie.

  • @Ryannn17 true

  • ohhh fuckin emotional scence :')

  • This movie is not about racism, it's racist propaganda that fooled alot of people. Research this film and the theory of white supremacy and then ask yourself is this a serious attempt at opening a dialogoue on race relations or is it just a ploy

  • that was the deeep. i remember crying on that part

  • We watched this in pyschology class last week. The entire class gasped!

  • Powerful shit.. No doubt.. Buut, in real life, the dad would've taken that gun and blasted dude between the eyes...

  • @NYerintransit: He is supose to be Persian in the movie, not Arab. And no, thats not the same. Ironic that the movie was about prejudices.

  • I would chop the Arab's head off in heartbeat if that were my kid he fired the gun at.

  • @NYerintransit watch the whole movie mate.

  • @BackInAGiffy I did.

  • @NYerintransit obviously the movie didn't get through to you then did it? It's because of people like you that this movie was made and that's not necessarily a good thing either.

  • @Cwally8 I like this film a lot. But I don't like him.

  • @NYerintransit you still don't get it do you. You did exactly what this film is trying to show that's a huge problem in our nation.

  • @Cwally8 I can appreciate a movie's artistic achievement and have a different take on a character than you do. The notion that you have to come down on one side in order to understand a film is wrong and it makes you a Stalinist for believing so.

  • @NYerintransit Again you don't get it. You called him ARAB when he is PERSIAN. You saw someone of a certain ethnicity and without carefully considering the situation jumped to conclusions and prejudged him. God why was that so hard to get.

  • @Cwally8 Oh Christ, get over yourself.

  • @NYerintransit Oh good one. Glad you finally figured it out, oh wait I had to hand it to you. Oh and I won't get over myself because guess what. Over patriotic dim witted people like yourself accuse people of his ethnicity everyday of being a terrorist when in reality they have no ties to the person or country that actually did it. So I'll get over myself when you aren't such a dumbass, got it? Or do I have to hand this one to you too?

  • @Cwally8 I'm not going to play your stupid game. Take your posturing and your grandiose rhetoric to another forum where people will be gullible enough to listen.

  • @NYerintransit Well racism isn't really a game. I really shouldn't have to persuade you into thinking it's bad. Oh by the way nice job on the big words almost made you seem intelligent. Now only if you could apply that effort to other things. hint hint. Anyway if your done I'm done have a great day it was nice meeting you.

  • i laughed when i saw this and i am not russian

  • Chuck Norris almost cried with this scene

  • Comment removed

  • this movie is all bullshit it aims so desperately to strike ur emotions when really it spreading racsit propaganda

  • @mtWHITE100 you are dumb

  • @iamright012 your mom is dumb

  • @mtWHITE100 Your English sucks and you're a joke.

  • @BackInAGiffy your judgement sucks and ur attitude is a joke

  • @mtWHITE100 lol "my attitude" ? hilarious!

  • @BackInAGiffy it wasnt supposeed to be BUT IM GLAD I MADE U HAPPY

  • @mtWHITE100 bye.

  • @BackInAGiffy ill buy ur mother in a sec

  • @mtWHITE100 sure :)

  • @BackInAGiffy and ill buy u in a minute as well FOR HALF PRICE

  • @mtWHITE100 eeew your bent as well

  • @BackInAGiffy bent?

  • @mtWHITE100 gay

  • @mtWHITE100 whats opposite of straight ;)

  • @BackInAGiffy ur a girl/woman arent u?

  • @mtWHITE100 seriously goodbye you're boring as fuck

  • @BackInAGiffy ur mothers boring so i fucked her

  • @mtWHITE100 Or maybe just maybe, now hear me out on this. IT could be trying to get through to the people that are blinded by their beliefs and show them that racism still exists and is indefinitely still a problem. Now I know you don't want to believe all of the things portrayed in here are true but guess what, they are. People are still racist, there is no doubt about it. To say this is bullshit is a very ignorant statement. Also emotions are the best way to get through to people.

  • @Cwally8 ok ur whole paragraph made no sense and full of contradictions i would own u in a courtroom.

  • EVERYTIME and I mean EVERYTIME I see this movie this scene just has me falling apart! This is the scene that won the movie the Oscar for best picture!

  • "It's a really good cloak" ... kills me everytime ...

  • IDK if the Persian guy's daughter meant to give him fake bullets or not, but this movie made me believe. I always know whats gunna happen when I watch but my heart always stops when I hear the bullet shot and the girls jumps into her dad's arms. THen I cry when she says "It's ok Daddy. I'll Protect you." POWERFUL MOVIE

  • I literally cried for a solid five minutes..

  • i cry and cry some more that scene happens every 23 sec in america with no blanks

  • the only scene in this movie that made cry and also made me believe yes there are angels

  • Movie about nigger-loving. Fuck off

  • @whoiswhobutwho Well Done Your retarted :D

  • @JuggaloAndMick Since when does retarded have two "t"s?

  • @whoiswhobutwho Worst time to have a typo.

  • One of the best films ever , this part always makes me feel some type of way

  • Thank GOD for the daughters discernment earlier in this movie to know that giving her dad real bullets was not a good idea...I LOVE LOVE LOVE this film!!!!

  • @lillunchin1002 Actually she thought she was buying real bullets.

  • 6'6" 280lbs. I've been bouncing in Night Clubs for 13 years and have seen a lot of fucked up things. When I watched this movie and he pulled the trigger, my heart stopped. Then when the little girl said "It's OK daddy, I'll protect you" I cried like a little bitch. Say what you want about me but one thing you can't argue is that this is one powerful movie.

  • @earlfears Amen!

  • @earlfears me to it was sadd

  • i watched this in my lecture the other and i was crying like mad! Everyone else was like wtf!!! lol

  • @chadishot - lecture ? lol, what class .

  • @Mohi212 American Studies, Crash was also a text that we had to discuss in our exam! lol It's fair to say I do love my course!

  • The guy with the gun must of been thinking "WTF JUST HAPPENED??"

  • goosebumps

  • this scene is magical !!! BEST SCENE EVER 4 REAL... and I saw a lot of movies...

  • its 2004

  • I just watched crash for the first time tonight. I've seen other movies that get me emotional, but the flood of emotion from this was like no other. This scene stands alone.

  • @ru0107 - I can relate to that . I felt the same thing when i first saw it back in 2006. Powerful film .

  • lol this scene always gets me crying like a baby my friend came in the room to ask if there was something wrong with me hahah

it's so powerful though, it always gets me.

  • I'm not even a dad (as far as I know) but man, this scene tears my insides up.

  • @handsock me neither but I do have a little niece and if something bad was done to her and I couldn't prevent it, it would fucking destroy me completely

  • Well now is the dad going to tell her the cloak doesnt actually work because she just might jump in front of a real bullet next time.

  • ..powerful movie.. :)

  • its the parents reactions and the music that make it so sad...

when i first saw this i thought he shot here and i cried D:

  • now in real life... 2:07 is the part where he'd put his daughter down, then beat the shit out of the guy!!

  • @icyhotsparkle Not really. The entire movie is about the evolution of the people altogether, from all of the drama and conflict going on throughout. I'm pretty sure Daniel could barely stand up straight from that whole scene of emotions anyway. He's threatened with death, has a gun pointed to his face, Lara "takes the bullet," he believes she's dead, she's really not, etc. That's a lot to take in lol, and I'm pretty sure he's not seeking revenge there, he's more relieved than anything.

  • @tmac3323 I was joking lmao

  • its a really good cloak

  • I've watched this film so many times and this scene still makes me cry

  • My favorite part of the movie was when the racist cop got the woman out of the car that was about to explode.

  • don't Russians cry too...lol

  • this is makes me cry everytime i see it

  • up to 1:54 was my fav part

  • This scene is just wow you know

  • the music definitely made this scene

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire did you even watch the whole movie?

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire if you watched the whole film - you'd see that the bullets from the gun had been replaced with blanks but the man thinks some form of divine intervention has taken place. The audience don't find out about the blanks until later too.

  • Tear*

  • absolutely brilliant film. Watched it for the first time a few months ago and it basically went straight into my top 5 films lol.

  • this movie saved my life... this was best movie ever then babel we need more movies like deez wahat has been best movie of 2010 and 2009 andyone know?

  • i swear, while i was watching this scene in drama class, i gasped and almost cried, scary but awesome movie <3

  • i want to watch this on yt. can't find full movie. help please!

  • This scene always gives me chills once the gun shot is fired and then we see Michael Peña's reaction. Great actor.

  • His reaction is so tear jerking =(

  • If you watch it carefully the gunman approaches him from the wrong direction. His car was parked on the right hand side of the street ahead of his house as shown from 0.00 to 0.15. The gunman then approaches the completely wrong way as shown from 0.29 to 0.42. What do you guys think?

  • @TheTracer199 Time is very distorted in movies. For all you know he could've walked half a block down then made a diagonal. They're not going to show all that in the movie

  • @ritzinlondon Yeah that's definitely possible

  • @TheTracer199 absolutely noz. 0.00 to 0.15 is through the mirror of his car so you see it mirror-inverted

  • @TheTracer199 lol what is this, LOST?

  • ohhhh man thts hella cute, tha girl thinks shes protecting her dad

  • @ThePAPULI same with me and try to be a lil macho when this scene comes, but... its to beautiful bro.... im actually crying at work right with some of my collegues

  • I can´t stop to cry, i saw this movie xxxx times and this is one of the better scenes that can recommend u.

  • best scene ever

  • @kobra150 EVER.........

  • such a great movie! but this scene is so sad! i cried!

  • this scene is amaizing

  • i fucking cried like a baby and im russian

  • @Renegade25 whats wrong with being russian :D

  • @Renegade25 Crying Russian? Imposible!

  • I used to love this moment, but now wathcing it again in youtube I can't get over the fact that this little girls jump seems just soo unnatural.

Also the mexican guy takes it so lightly that her little girl was "shot". Where are the parental guard instinct? You let your child run in front of a gun and then just go in the house like nothing special happened. I would kick the crap out of the guy if my daughter was shot in front of me. Blanks or no blanks. The reaction is just wrong.

  • @tenkesh

Not everyone reacts the same way. This movie, to me, is sociology in which defines people in a stereotyped group that doesn't always react stereotypically. Most Latinos, Mexicans, and Puerto Ricans are thought of as gang members and thieves, etc, but here is a Latino man who isn't like that - violent. Sometimes "walking away" is more powerful than aggressive conflict.

  • @tenkesh, I respectfully disagree. The father had gone through a moment of absolute terror, followed by a feeling of being spent from the adrenaline rush all that fear caused. Once he realized his daughter was still alive, it made sense that relief, shock and confusion set in, rendering him speechless. He was also probably marveling that the "imaginary cloak" worked and deeply grateful that it did.

  • There's no actual bullet in the cartridge. No projectile. It's "blank"--more or less just gunpowder. That's it.

  • WTF just happened?

  • I'm hard-pressed (to say the least) with these kinds of things. Don't tear up, I don't cry at movies (in all fairness, I did cry when I saw Bambi as a kid), and I never get so attached to an on-screen persona that it creates a visceral twang, but holy Christ, this scene had ME sobbing up. Do you realize how friggin' hard that is for me to admit??! The only movie I've ever seen with such a powerful emotional kick like this (aside from Bambi) is American Beauty. These films are rarities. Love it!

  • did he miss or something? how did no1 get shot?

  • @sinc67 You have to watch the movie. The bullets are blanks. When he bought the gun, the guy sold him blanks.

  • @billbenblue

    whats blanks eh

  • @Jimsonisgod wtf is wrong with you... ?

  • @CrackSizzlePop I'm on the internet.

  • @Jimsonisgod it is really funny

  • 何度見ても泣ける

  • WHERES MAH MONEY

NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY WITH UR KID

  • this is one of the most emotional scenes i've ever seen. when the shot of the father screaming comes on right after the gunshot my eyes just tear up. its so powerful.

  • @katiee521 the scream is silent because it is the best way to communicate to you that it is his soul that is screaming in pain . . . your own soul understands this immediately . . . and your eyes tear up.

  • @xxxmichaelking thats such a poetic way to explain it...i never thought of it that way

  • @katiee521 it's one interpretation anyway . . . guess it depends on what ur ideas are why we're here . . . and where we came from. oh i PM'd ya.

  • This is one of the most powerful scenes I have ever seen in a movie it made me cry. I love this movie it is so good and it deserved best picture.

  • Powerful scene. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • Such a powerful scene. It always brings tears to my eyes.

  • Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Such an emotional scene. Perfect.

  • @johanabye it is the scene from the movie, if you have seen it...it's been too long. You are taking the scene out of context and not applying 2 separate story lines that meet at this scene. @ secretpearls....the daughter mistakenly purchased the blanks.

  • this scene is absolutely perfect. The music, the actors' heart melting emotions, the ascending lighting symbolizing the little girl is an angel. It truly touches your heart and is without a doubt my favorite scene in movie history.

  • man im about to see this movie right now....

  • Crash is such a good movie. I've seen the movie many times and I always tear up at this scene.

  • It would have been a better scene if the little girl died.. I'm sorry but that would have made it SOO much better and more heartbreaking! :S

After the girl jumped up to her father the man should shoot her (by accident, like in the movie) and then the father should break down and cry putting the (now dead) girl on the grass softly! ..

    But great scene anyway!

  • @Johanaabye

Your wrong. Its so much better the way it is. Its got so much more depth and connections to other characters (which the movie is based around). It also makes a really great twist.

  • @TheBigD50cal

You're absolutely right. The scene is so beautifully linked with the story the father told the little girl about the magical cloth that protects her...

One of the most emotional scenes I've ever seen in movies.

  • if someone asked me about the best film I´ve ever watched I´d say LA-Crash. And that scene is one reason why.

  • u no i didnt see the whole movie how did the bullet not kill her was it a blank

  • @elcubanopapi8 it was a blank... the shooters daughter got him blank bullet becasue he wanted one but she knew her father was not thinking straight so she helped him buy a gun and then got blank bullets but the father didnt know.

  • @elcubanopapi8 oh my god well her dad was telling her about a magical cloak and it would protect her no matter what. because he explained her never was shot or stabbed earlier. WATCH THE MOVIE!

  • i just saw this movie for the first time when i saw that scene i just got goosebumps and almost cried

  • hate the fact no matter how many times i see thsi scene i get teary. . .its coming to a point where its just ridiculous

  • Comment removed

  • This is probably one of the best scenes in the history.

  • @abudabit Yeah, you don't have kids.

  • @abudabit have a child and then say something, even if u yourself does not have one, anyone with a heart finds this scene to be emotional, overacted? i guess the possible thought of death to ur child would only get a slight reaction out of u ya heatless asshole

  • @abudabit pls kill yourself

  • Magnificent film, everything about it. Very glad it won all of those oscars.

  • touching scene, the movie is so good

  • the first time i saw this scene: BOOM crying

but the i realize that they were blanks before the end even

  • Whats the Songs Name the ??

  • @mpizle10 'The Shooting' by Mark Isham

  • One of the few scenes I cry at these days... Easily one of the best movies I've ever seen.

  • My BIl got this movie one night, and after the dad gave her the clock, we knew this scene was coming. We started crying the moment the truck pulls up to the house, and I don't just mean tearing up, I mean full blown sniffling, snobbing, overwelming crying because our own daughters were about her age at the time, and both would have done the same thing and we cursed out brother in law for having us watch the movie, but it is a beautiful and ugly movie all at once.

  • THIS is the scene that won the Best Picture Oscar!!! The movie was just excellent but this scene just sealed it !!! One of the most orginal movies i have seen in a very long time

  • Yes, I cannot watch it without tearing up myself

  • lol i cant watch this and not tear up even though i know what happens!
