  • The man plays as if he is Chopin's reincarnation. No One alive can even come close to beating Mr Li Yundi.

  • suggestions: pink floyd-wish you were here?

    nice...

    :-??

  • I first performed this when I was ten. I am still in love with it. Chopin's my favorite composer ~_~

  • @GoodiTwoShuz Aren't you're fingers a little too short for this piece when you're ten? I mean come on

  • i already started learning this piece! ahhh 10 pagesss! barely got to the 10th barr :(

  • Whoever voted this down are insanely jealous

  • I really like this. I'll put this on my 'pieces to learn one day' list.

  • @OscarLiu24 I never listen to Chopin when I'm doing my homework, because it makes me to leave the books and go to play the piano.

  • Chopin would be so happy to hear Yundi Li; he has the true Chopin gift.

  • makes it look so damn easy

  • i heard all spectrum of classic music. and he give me the most happiness.

  • This is by far my favourite video on YouTube. Not only is it incredible music but a pleasure to watch. Thanks Yundi Li; you are doing Chopin justice.

  • this reminds me of tom an jerry

  • this really helps to listen to while you're making your homework!

  • @IsabellaWeb2 not really... I basically stop doing any work when this plays.

  • @OscarLiu24 haha yeah, you can do that too. I didn't say that i only listen to this while making homework. I said that it really helps.

  • My version has the speed slower than him by 10 times :D (shut up will you

  • yundi li can kick chuck norris's ass any day and you all know it.

  • @bannanabagle turn around >:D

  • @npisvaj :D

  • You can tell that this amazing man has an amazing understanding of Chopin's work. You can tell he admires and loves Mr. Chopin. Its quite adorable, and I think it adds to his performance. I love listening to him play.

  • <3

  • i want to cry when i hear this

  • I just learned how to play this song in past 3months ago,... but I never know that this song might have been perform so fantastic as this! Its speed is so amazing and the feeling is so incredible

  • Dear Youtube,

I'm afraid I may have broken the replay button. Terribly sorry.

    Yours, Jupiter

  • let's face it, he's chopin-obsessed.

  • @dudedudedude94 hhahahahhaha, yep, plus only he understand the feeling of all these pieces... lol like nocturne we all probably like it.. but some of the harder pieces i just hear so many notes i get lost.. but i see his face and he is like all into it and im like.. "huh" lol "wheres the feeling" lol

    AWESOMMMMEEEE!!!!

    MARRY ME, YUNDI LI!!!

  • @Xorunia Hey there. HE'S MINE. BACK OFF. ♥

  • @kutekitty7

    O_O

    Oh my goodness.

    ...

    VICIOUS...

  • @Xorunia XD ♥

  • he know how to play chopin ,some pianist don't get it, its not only playing the notes at the right time, he's telling the story

  • Scene looks like from The Legend of 1900th episode. Let 'em release stems.

  • My sister is currently playing this piece, it really is more fantastic (if that's possible) when you hear it in the flesh!

  • this interpretation couldn't be any more perfect!

  • The 24 who disliked this video are fans of Justin Bieber (lol)

  • @carlopetox

justin bieber comments arent funny anymore (lol)

  • @thatdarnjake - my comment wasn't meant to amuse you (lol)

  • Has anyone here heard Zoltan Kocsis's interpretation of this piece? Also excellent !

  • I love listening to different interpretations of pianists on the same piece :)

  • fantastic!

  • can those who disliked this video even justify themselves for not liking this? unless they are just the mindless, uncultured people that "popular" media has brainwashed them to become.

  • @4znhatred i have that same feeling about classical music and how the media is linked to the brain washing of the popular people,

  • @4znhatred

I'd have to disagree with that; some people just don't like classical music, no matter what they listen to. Grouping people and subsequently judging them based on something like their taste in music is, if you'll pardon my French, fucking stupid. I like rock, metal, pop, classic, country… which would mean I am a stuck-up, sophisticated, preppy metalhead snob from an incest-condoning backwater hicktown in the arse end of nowhere, based on popular stereotypes.

    Yeah. Just no.

  • @EpicFailHat pretty/sophisticated and incest-conditioning/backwater/hicktown are oxymorons in the same sentance when describing an individual.

but yes, music one listens to is a bit representative to their mental states. If you listen to bay area hip hop and think it's beautiful music, for example, you're probably not a very beautiful person (on the inside).

  • @Arfat thats not actually true, it also depends on the persons upbringing if the music relates to them they will listen to it and love it, maybe classical music just isn't some peoples cup of tea. everybody is different i could listen to this all day, hip hop, and rock even country and bluegrass and feel the same way. because each genre relates to me in different ways. maybe some people just havent found the connection between them and classical music.

  • @SuperSenpaiMKZ I must say I agree 100% with. I have felt that way with my music taste as well. My friends look at me like I'm going crazy when I listen to this. Well, my grandmother only listen to classical music and wired her house with speakers to blare it through the house. People need to remember everyone does not have to like the same thing.

  • @Arfat Exactly my point. If people were to judge people by their music tastes, you'd end up with that clusterfuck up there. (Again, pardon my French).

What the fuck is "Bay Area Hip Hop"? San Fransisco Bay? I don't know these things, I'm from goddamn Scandinavia.

Please. If what music I listened to was a representative of my mental state, I would end up with the above oxymoronic (yes, that's a word, hard as it is to believe) group of adjectives. Congratulations on missing the point completely.

  • המוזיקה כמו חלום...

  • Beautiful!

He really looks like the Japanese actor to me =P

  • @winseeeee He's chinese.

  • @ibuddler i know, i just think he particularly looks like him in this clip...alot of ppl say they are alike =]

  • Bardzo Bardzo Pięęęęęęknie Bardzo Najmocniej Kocham Muzykę

  • Brillant but soulless. And why this awful pink color?

  • @turpinaime

I'm sure he can perform this piece with more soul than you are able to any time.

  • This piece is much harder than it sounds. I could only play it at least ten times slower than he did. It does not sound like the same piece.

    Yundi Li played great! BRAVO!!

  • EXELENTE,!!!! MAGNIFICO...!!!..ERES UNICO YUNDI LI.. MI MAS GRANDE ADMIRACION., Y GRAN ABRAZO..DESDE MEXICO.... PARA TI...EXELENTE..

  • come fa a suonare chopin come bach!!!!è impossibile che non provi niente quando suona, specialmente pechè questo è uno tra i più belli....è solo tecnica.

  • i really like seeing him play.with feeel...........

  • beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • I noticed that he always looks up whenever he play chopin piece. Just as he want to know if chopin (in heaven) likes his playing or not lol.

  • @boyway2603 he plays IN the chopin style... (or Romantic style if you like)... he loves chopin haha....maybe that's why he got the gold prize for chopin competition!

  • what beautiful hands!

  • Guiomar Novaes, Op. 42, early 1950s Recording on the Vox label:

    watch?v=B-KMQFvF7XM

    thanks and regards

  • His playing is always perfect.

  • Enjoyable.

  • Stupendo.

  • 24 justin biber aff lol`s

  • 24 biches dislike this beautiful playing. DX they probably know nothing of classical music, and cant understand the rest of us 620 people. DX<

  • Hussein Bolt of piano, amirite?

  • 鋼琴王子迪迪

  • I want a Steinway & Sons ... :(

  • @044JohnnyDepp Who doesn't want a Steinway & Sons? xD

  • @inamabilisoppa The question is who can afford one? lol not me :(

  • @inamabilisoppa One of my dreams in life: to own a Steinway grand. And then be able to play without shaming the piano. T_T

  • Yundi Li 's romance overflow in space. He is the ideal person for chopin's music

  • amazing!!

  • @victorbite go get a blowjob

  • this guy is the darth vadar of the piano

  • this is good, but the ashkenazy version from 1986 is much better than this.

  • @pianopro9 It's definitely faster, but Li's interpretation is WAY more emotive.

  • no sheet music. thats amazing :]

  • @victorbite go get a ear job

  • Excellent!..

  • this is my favorite waltz. i love how Chopin can melt joy and sadness together so perfectly.

  • I like the way u put up even the copyright part of the video :)

  • i was told to sight-read this for five minutes as practice and i couldn't even get the melody down. this is such a gorgeous piece!

  • Yundi li has all the elements of a real pianist.. carisma, technique, musicality, interpretation and i can go on and on.. he was just the perfect choice to win the chopin competition in 2000. Unlike other pianists, he doesn't provoke the person watching his performance with wierd faces.. he is so natural. This what talent is all about.. Bravo Mr Li.. Bravo..!

  • I love how light and expressive Yundi Li's playing is. It's very hard to maintain the lightness and technique this guy has. Especially in his Fantasie Impromptu video.

  • Brilliant performance from Yundi,as usual!

Perfect lines all the way through, along with perfect rubato!

    Just overall sensational

    1

  • Bravo, Yundi Li! I am Polish and he plays with real feeling!

  • Oh my goddddd!

How can he move his fingers?

    That is very fast!!

  • No problems with the music, but this is a nice example of how to totally mess up the visuals in a classical video.

  • did he dye his hair?

  • Bardzo Pięknie 5*****

  • 5***** 5***** 5***** 5***** 5*****

  • i dont know how anyone could not love this

  • he's a cutie

  • When are you going to perform here in Cerritos California? I will be there to watch. Great performance Yundi!!!

  • Nice playing but the camerawork could hardly be worse

  • This is a beautiful waltz!

  • my favourite waltz is #2. Anyone have a link to that one?

  • shit, i eman seriously how could chopin has all this talent? he wrote like a lot of pieces!! and,,, gr,, really..amazing human abilities..they are piece og god :D

  • The version by Dmitri Sgouros sounded MORE romantic than Li's... THe latter's is more like playful...

  • BRAVO !!!

  • He is briliant!

  • Favourite piece, favourite composer, favourite pianist, favourite interpretation...i can go on forever. 10 stars!!! :D

  • @FCAndanteSpianato u are so right i agree with u too. thanks

  • @FCAndanteSpianato : favorite piano too. Only a Steinway concert grand could have such a 'fast and loose' sound.

  • @chunhaylee I don't think that is a concert grand - looks like a model B to me.

  • Espectacular ¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Yes I like Li Yundi a lot more than Lang Lang. He's more subtle and his technics are good. Every note is crisp, clear and more understated. Lang Lang gives me a bad headache and eyeache. :(

  • Bardzo Pięknie 6******

  • he haz rly sexy hands....

  • He plays magnificently... I wish I could listen to his concert in London on 16 March... It's probably going to be fantastic.....

  • how can anyone not fall in love with Yundi after listening to this!

  • You just need to be male :P

  • @yiyiku lol. His rendition of Liebestraume did it for me, I fell in love instantly.

  • love how his fingers seem to fly over the keyboard O.O awesome, and a beautiful piece too

  • Very elegant playing - beautifully done.

  • Awesome performance !!!

  • Dido, lago4! I guess that there are so many Linda Loveless in pop music then, especially in the U.S.-- they all look like prostitutes and behave like porn performers. Why don't you say Chuck Norris is the Liberace of martial art? I think Liberace would not mind playing piano forte on Mr. Norris!

  • Brilliant playing. Does anyone know what hall this is and where it is? It's so beautiful.

  • ahh, he's just pure amazement. well more than that, but it's unexplainable :')

  • this guy is the Bruce Lee of classical piano

  • lol i know

  • Hoping he won't die at the age of 33....

  • what would make you think such a think? how would he die that young? does he have a disease or something..cause thats terrible if so! hope hes healthy :) Hes incredibly talented!

  • I was answering to lago4 (Bruce Lee died at the age of 33)

  • oh well at least theres nothing wrong with Yundi! I didn't even know that Bruce Lee ever died, hes an actor i've heard of but never knew much about. I wish him the best too! :)

  • @lago4

    racist

  • @lago4 i lvoe how u put it. thanks

  • @lago4 more like chuck norris :P

  • it's funny to be against the law sometimes when it's very obvious. 0:01 Warning. :)...I noticed that because I just can't stop watching this performance again and again which I see as the best!

  • he has really pretty hands ahahaha amazing:)

  • and pretty face too. lol~!! ;)

  • excellent interpretation

  • muy parecido al gran vals brillante

  • Very good play pianist CONGRATULATIONS!Opinions 5*****

  • This is one of the best interpretation.

  • my favourite colour!

    it's the bestestest! lolz

i believe the environment of the hall can always affect the performance.

  • this doesn't sound like a waltz at all, it's pretty anyway

  • wow beautiful room

  • best version

  • or bestest?

  • i like his hair in this video

  • So cool

  • don't insult ppl

  • Where is this beautfiful room?

  • that place looks beautiful

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!

  • I love watching Yundi playing the waltz

  • oh i love this watlz! I played it awhile back....it's so elegant and sparkly at the same time!

  • Is it that perfect?

  • almost xD

  • He even looks like Chopin!

  • I guess the part that looks most like Chopin would be the hairstyle lol~ But ya that's on purpose. I heard his teacher made him wear Chopin's styled clothing and has the Chopin haircut and basically live like Chopin did prior to the 2000 competition.
