I was at this game. DiPietro got hit in the balls during warmups, and he wasn't right for the rest of the game. The Pens were horrible this year, but they beat the Islanders pretty handily in this game.

This is a great goal, no question, but to compare it to Ovechkin's is laughable.  Of course Ovechkin got a bit lucky, as did Malone that Dipetrio let this one in. But do you think AO was just waving his stick around aimlessly on his goal? Of course not. He knew exactly where the net was and what he wanted to do with the puck. Many players have scored goals while lying on the ice over the years. What made AO's special was that he was sliding away and facing away from the net.
